Plantar Fasciitis in both feet....should i have steroid injections?

Posted , 31 users are following.

I've had PF in one foot for best part of a year, now in both feet for the last 4 weeks. Im in excruciating pain as I'm sure most people who suffer from PF can relate to. Painkillers I have been prescribed up till now are useless but my GP is giving me stronger ones for when I go on holiday in 2 weeks so I can walk around hopefully. He has told me that when I return from hols, I will be having steroid injections. I'm interested to know what other sufferers think regarding this and also if it has helped the people who have had the injection.

I have had PF for 25 years had a tendon op ad still suffer badly I have the injections in PF in the middle of my foot 2 times per year in an operating theatre while awake

The pain is horrible and I am held down while it's done but afterwards I feel fine and can walk again with bare feet

The injections are the worst pain i have suffered but worth it even though prior to the injections I feel physically sick

I have had injections in mt shoulder and knee but nothing of a pain but the PF injections are so terrible but worth it

    Dear Catina

I have had steroid injections in both feet every six months sometime in three when the pain is bad. I used to have them done in hospital , but now st the Gp surgery . They are wonderful and take the awful pain away from the Arthritis in my feet .. for up to four or five months .

    best wishes Linda

Had the injection yesterday and in agony. Feel unwell and depressed. Will not recommend it. Can anyone tell me how long before I will feel relief. Can not put my foot down at all.
