Plaquenil worsening symptoms

Posted , 5 users are following.

I've been in Plaquenil for 3 weeks along with prednisone. I'm in much worse pain and swelling ECT. I've experienced migraines, major swelling in ankles and knees. It just seems like everything worsened bigtime after diagnosis and starting Plaquenil. Is this normal? Will this get better???

Hi I started benepali 7 weeks ago and don't think my symptoms have got worse I would say slightly better. I think you should contact your rhumy as this doesn t seem normal to me . It's always worth ringing them not worth the risk if you feel worse. Just do it they know more than we do don't suffer on your own xx

Are your drugs for rhuematoid arthritis. If so have you ever been on or been offered humira injections alongside mtx. This is what i am on, i am gonna be asking my Rhuemy for a change as i think my body is to used to it after approx 14yrs. But i have to say when i first started it was a lifechanger. Bedridden to back to the building trade in a month of starting it. The next 12 yrs was really good. Just a thought. Good luck and stay well

Hi Debra, definitely doesn’t sound normal to me. Contact your Rheumy in the morning.  Take photos of your ankles and knees in case you don’t see anyone immediately. Good luck   Carol x

Individuals can respond variably to different drugs and some responses could mean you will be advised to stop that treatment.

You should report your new symptoms to your specialist or at the very least your doctor to get a qualified opinion.
