Anyone used one of those vibration machines as part of rehab? If so how long after THR will it be safe?

I was advised NEVER to use a vibro plate as they are seemingly nit duitsble for anyone with any type of metal in body.

I was told by my therapist any type of vibration can loosen the hip. Now a TENS machine is useful. They used that on me every time I went. I even decided to purchase one for myself. Hope all continues to go well for you. LD

I would let my orthopedic surgeon be my guide regarding this type of equipment.

    Take care.

I own one. I'll use it for upper body but will never stand on it. You might want to check with a specialist in ortho and sports medicine.

    Nan,

For some reason I don't see a picture or link to the vibration machine you are asking about and I have not had the replacement surgery so I can't respond specifically to your question but can tell you I bought a instrument called the Thumper, a dual headed, hand held, 110 volt unit with adjustable vibration levels and use it twice a day, every day on sore/stiff leg muscles and occasional shoulder/neck discomfort.  It is not what I would call remedial but it does seem to help loosen up soft tissue, stimulate blood flow and is a pretty good at making one feel better.  It cautions not to use it on bones but I find a quick run over my feet/ankles helpfull.  It's built in Canada I believe, is a very robustly built tool and they have several models.  I would recommend the top of the line Pro Sport s it has the deepest/strongest vibrations.  Of course you should absolutely confer with your medical team/ therapists first before considering a purchase.  Was about $200. US dollars.

I did add some links with info, but they have been deleted, not sure why, anyway studies I read about have included using vibration machines with good results on THR patients.
