Please answer: going back on sertraline maybe

Hey,

A year ago in March I was on 50mg of sertraline and the first two weeks I took them was the worst two weeks of my life! Like I was crying for no reason, suicidal thoughts, honestly just a very dark place then I started to feel better! I was on them for about 3 months then I stopped because I wasn’t on a repeat prescription and I was too anxious to keep ringing them every time.

I want to go back on sertraline or another anti-d because I’ve been feeling awful recently but I want to half my previous dosage to 25mg next time. I know it’s my body and everyone’s body is different but because I haven’t been on them for more than a year I’m slightly worried that I will feel those extreme side effects again but another part of me is like I need to battle through it and surely if it’s half than I had last year it wouldn’t be bad. Does anyone have a similar experience and willing to give some advice or an answer?

Thank you so much in advance!

When I first started taking sertraline it was 25mgs and it took about a month for me to feel my anxiety ease a bit it feels like forever but its worth it, you just need to hang in there. You should definitely start on the lower dose, you know your own body.

    Take care
