Please excuse!

At 3 this morning, sleep where are you, I was mulling over my stay in hospital.

Bodily waste is such a high topic of conversation. More often than not the first question from the nurse was have you been? Chats with other patients on what to eat to encourage such activity.

But I was quite taken back when asked to point out on a picture chart what I had produced. It brighten up the day for all on my ward comparing and looking hopefully at those pictures. It's called the Bristol poo chart. Do google it. I am thinking of making it into a family game. Snap!?

    Hahahaha!!

That's hilarious, I get asked how many times but not what kind!

Happily reporting that my life in that area is all good.

Thank you for this post, and it's true this is a very popular topic, in fact was my first post after surgery!

    Lol!!

    Happy 💩 Everyone!!

The Bristol poo chart is also used by us in the labs. If an inpatient produces a type 5 6 or 7 we have to do Cdiff testing as well as everything else. Also for GP samples from people over 65. Cryptosporidium testing is also done on all samples 5,6 and 7

Yes, they have got one at the Vet's too!

I think that is where the slang "Number Two" comes from? Or is it Cockney rhyming slang for poo?

Don't know for sure but it all becomes deadly serious when you can't go to the toilet.

It is rather fun especially when you have had weetaBix for breakfast and they discuss texture.

At one point I actually told them it wasn't listed hoping they might want photos but they didn't ask.

So that was the end to that conversation.

I was saying to my children during my stay in the hospital which was for months some times saying about this poo chart but they wouldn't believe me so next visit nurse showed them I'm sure the topic at school the next day was rather funny.

I tell you it's amazing the things you pick up or see in there. It's a bad you have to stay in but you soon find stuff to occupy the time. The scariest thing was an 80 yr lady doing a basic instinct crossing her legs. Well that was a day I will never fothey unfortunately. But I hope your home soon and well.

    Regards

    Best wishes
