Hi ladies!
i just found this forum and i thank you all for your insights as this has been the worse experience in my life. i am not taking hrt and have been doing this for a few years now. Like many of you, I've been to the dr more in these last few years then my whole life combined. I've had heart monitors, ekg's, various imaging and loads of blood work. i basically know what i dont have. Please, can any of you share if this gets better? I need something to hold on to. i had a partial hysterectomy several years ago so i cant go off my periods and have no idea where i am in this process. Drs have drawn fsh and it shows post but i have learned this is very unreliable and honestly i feel i am deep in the end of peri at best. Please tell me the symptoms ease..... I have them all!

Thank you for your reply. i have my ovaries too still. I keep hoping this will be my last year... as they say it gets worse before better. I just am blown away that this is actually a thing. I think to myself how in the world can this all be from menopause. You'd think we would have heard more about it. I was totally unprepared for what I've gone/going through..... when the anxiety hit I could have sworn it was just me.... I am so sorry for all of us that are going through this but it definitely helps knowing its not just me.

Hi Shaunap,
I am 50, been going through this for about 6 years now.
My worst stretch was 2 solid years of symptoms that would change, but whatever the symptom was, it was most always between 5 and 9 on a 10 scale. 2018 and 2019, I spent more time (and $$) at Drs offices than at home, it seems like. A few ER trips, a rheumatologist, a physical therapist, 2 gynos, a gastro doc, test after test..., saw my new gyno every month for half a year thinking I had bursting ovaries or endometriosis, and my primary care doc literally every few weeks for pain, stomach issues, headaches, nausea and weakness/dizziness/insomnia. And trying everything so I could function.
Nothing major found.
My gyno was ready to schedule me for endometriosis surgery, when we happened to discuss how dry I was everywhere... she said why not try some hrt, and if it doesnt help anything, surgery could be done to remove any endometrial leasions, cysts, or whatever.
I am having a rough couple of weeks right now, but I can say this year has been way better than the last 2.
Fewer migraines. Fewer aches and pains. Pelvic pain/low back pain completely gone. Fewer tingles or burning/shock sensations. Way fewer hot flashes. Sleeping much better most nights. Not nearly as many nauseous days. Still anxious, but I can keep it in the background most of the time now.
I still have periods, but they are very light now... mostly just spotting. My main symptom now is brain fog/exhaustion that hits me in the late afternoon. And my allergies are off the charts this year.
I am on low dose estrogen patch, low dose progesterone pill. It took a few months trial and retrial to get it right but I feel mostly human with the combo Im on now.
Hope this helps you some... you are not alone, and it does get better.
Take care,
Sara
