PLEASE GUYS I NEED YOUR HELP

Hi you all

I had minor pain in my throat starting 4 years ago .. I’m 48

I had a camera out down and was told I just had minor esophagitus

4 years later it has been coming and going and normally all I have to do is take my lanzapoze or whatever it’s called and it’s ok

Over last two months it’s been getting worse, the last two weeks has been so bad

I’ve basically got it most of the day and not just after eating.

I’ve been taking 30mg lanzoprozle in morning and a strong dose of 300mg Ranitidine before evening meal for two weeks now .. But nothing is working. It’s really freaking me out

I’m 4 days into an anti inflammatory diet, basically living off the land and still no better

I’m also taking CBD oil and Essiac tea,

My question is, do other people get reflux nearly all day and night as well ? Just cause u have reflux so bad , can it just be reflux and nothing sinister ?

I’m scared this has turned into Barrett’s or even something more sinister.

I’m booked to see the specialist but it’s 6 weeks for an appointment and then nearly 5 months for the camera. WTF

I’m hoping someone can come on here and tell me they also have it almost 24/7 but it doesn’t mean it’s anything sinister..

And the fact I had a camera down 4 years ago and nothing sinister is a good thing.

Please give me some info on what I have said and go easy with the scary stuff as  already getting worried

Thank u

The chances of it being anything sinister are very remote indeed . I just checked the NHS ( I’m in the UK) incidence rate for osephagal cancer ( which I assume is what you are worried about) for your sex and age and there were 6 men out of 100,000 contracted in a year so it is extremely unlikely . Barrets is a result of symptoms and doesn’t cause symptoms itself . Worth getting checked out but I’d be hugely surprised if it was anything serious . Especially as you were scoped 4 years ago !!

i am worried about cancer, my friend who was 50 died off it 5 years ago.

i suppose what I was asking every one was do other people have it all day as well?

for the last week it's there morning till night. It's awful.

Are you taking any other medications? I was having horrible GERD (i've had it on and off for years but this was bad) and it turned out to be a combination of NSAIDS and another medication I was taking.

      Hi

      thx for the reply

no I'm not taking any other prescribed drugs.

when yours  was bad, did u just get it at times or felt like you had it all the time.

at present, I have mine from morning till night  and I'm eating like a saint?

do u know if other people have had it from morning till night ?

One does of naproxen two days ago set off three days of heartburn so far!

Before I was diagnosed with a small hiatus hernia I was refluxing constantly , literally every 7 minutes . Worse about 2 hours after eating . This lasted for 5 weeks and then got better on its own .

Could your esophagitus have gotten worse ? That’s the obvious thing.

You need to eliminate some of the things you are eating and drinking and see if that helps. Not everything "off the land" is good for heartburn. My latest nasty bout was from eating green rhubarb that I grow.

Some teas are really bad for heartburn, too. Throat Coat tea is really soothing, and has licorice, slippery elm, and other things that are supposed to help build the mucus layer. I just drank some and the pain is gone, like magic.
