I have been diagnosed with bi polar for 8 years, medication is helping, but my spending is out off

control, In 3 months I have clocked up £14000,00, that's not including the £20000.00 I owe my

husband and nearly £40000.00 I owe my dad, yes iv been very lucky having people to bail me out,

but this time I have no one to bail me out. Is there any thing I can do to help myself from spending all this money on crap I don't need just to make me feel better, Please help very desperate my

marriage is going to finish If I dont sort this out.

Many thanks

I had the same problem, and because I had a really good salafy managed to hide it. Earlier this year when I realised that I couldn't go on. I contacted a charity called 'step change' they were able to go through all my finances and concluded with me that I should petition for bankruptcy.

It was a really good thing to do, my husband came with me, staff at the court were lovely. I can not get credit now and have no bank accounts. All my money goes into my husbands account who gives me money when I need some. The weight and guilt are no longer on my subfolders

I am exactly the same as Jerry Lee, I have spent thousands of pounds, re-mortgaged the house to the hilt with no way ever of paying this back, I have been diagnosed with Bi polar 4 mths ago and don't know where on earth to turn. I am also with Step change but cannot go bankrupt as I will lose the house and have 2 children, my husband really helps now but doesn't know much about the debt as I hide it. Can anyone help me on theis one please.
