You are caring about your friend perhaps ask her to join this group ...I search any website, I personally this one is the best...anyway, let your friend know its not doom and gloom, I am chiarian successful patient, I used to suffer terribly and effected me terribly I ended up house bound for over 2 years, I detested surgery, I wished I had done the soonest - Iwas suffering badly from head to toe..just unable to describe how horrible it was, but the soonest i woke up from the surgery - i am fine all the symptom gone, a part of ache and pain of surgery..2 months healing is again likehell, but here I am over a year..I have my Quality of life back but I have to be careful though what I am doing - I am not doing lots of straining stuff..take it easy..here you go..

I would def encourage your friend to join, I'm new to this diagnosis too and have found it so helpful. No one on the site is a medical professional but they have what the experts don't - experience of how it is to live with chiari and advice and tips on how to manage the condition in any way possible
