Please help

Hey everyone. My GF sprained her ankle pretty bad last week and while she has been dealing with that a Red band popped up on the swelling. Went to the docs and said it was inflammation. The next day blisters popped up and became painful and very itchy. We went back to the urgent care and the nurse practitioner said it was shingles. We found it very coincidental and odd that shingles could appear in the exact same spot her sprained ankle is. I’m adding a photo for reference. She is nervous that she was most diagnosed and the rash may be something else. By the way. For the first 2 days she had a fever but no sick symptoms and the flu test was negative. Thanks in advance.

Anti virals and lidocaine to help with the itchy rash. Best thing is to go online and learn as much as you can. Many ways to treat this disease and help stop the neurological trauma of this disease can be down the line. After the rash has healed ask for the zoster virus vaccine. This will help her immune system to fight off further virus attacks on her body. It’s safe to give the vaccine after a breakout is clear from any lesions. This will help prevent future breakouts and less painful reoccurrence of shingles. I’m glad I did. Ask your pharmacist if the new vaccine is available in your area it is much more effective than the old one.
