3 months ago my right ear started to feel full, clogged and ring when is quiet. I visited an ent specialist right away. She cleaned my ear and prescribed me ear drops. My ear started to get worse and now both ears ring and feel clogged. I went to another doctor recently and she said if you had a flu before it might of affected the ears and there is nothing I can do. I'm starting to get worried because everyday it gets worse and I don't know what to do and it's been 3 months

Hi Tessa - you need to be checked by a competent ENT that can give you some answers. I'm hoping your issues are temporary and I'm sorry to hear you feel they are getting worse. Have you lost any hearing?
You should be checked for tinnitus and Menieres Disease along with ETD, Eustachian Tube Dysfunction.
Are you sensitive to loud sounds? You mention this has been going on for 3 months. Can you recall anything that might have set this off? New medications? An illness? A loud concert or band?
Wish I could help you more but a good ENT will get to the bottom of this nightmare.
My Best,
Glenn

Hi!
I had something similar to you in my right ear. As well as the ear feeling full, clogging and ringing, I started to get ear pain, feeling dizzy and off balance.
Could it be fluid in your ear?
After about 8 months of the symptoms with my right ear, it started in my left ear. They gave me nasal sprays and antihistamines but it just carried on. I ended up going to an ENT specialists who diagnosed me with ETD Eustachian Tube Dysfunction. I had the grommet operation on both ears which relieved the pressure, my hearing didn't sound muffled and my ear felt unclogged. The only issue is I still have the pain. They now say because I still have ear pain, its not EDT! I am now having a second opinion.
It is now coming up to 2 years of having the symptoms. Do not leave it as long as me. Doctors will try and fob you off and say 'take painkillers and see how you feel in a few months' be persistent. Ask your doctor be referred to an ENT specialist.
