Hi, my iron level is 10 and can't remember potitisum level but both low, they have put me on sodo-k and ferrous sulphate, I am now being sick and upset belly but been told that that's a common side affect, my legs are a major problem, my breathing I think is little better so hopefully they are working, been told that they will take some time to get back to normal and pretty stress out as I will be having surgery and been told they won't do it until my levels are back to normal and taken some time to get to the right hospitals, it's a nitemare lol, my infection levels are also raised and on antibiotics, I've never felt this poorly xx

What type of surgery are u getting & whats mg of iron ur taking?

Ello u, they are 200 mg 3x daily, today I feel worse and to top it all have another skin cyst come out, I feel the antibiotics aren't working, think another trip to a and e as going down and all I'm doing is sleeping, the surgery is for saddle nose deformity and sinuis drainage, the royal national ent in London are doing that and the Eastman hosp are repairing my palatte as got a hole in my soft palatte the size of a 5 p piece, I can't wait for that as affects eating, drinking and speech, I think the reason why my iron levels dropped is 1. I hardly eat due to the hole and not hungry and 2. I get alot of nose bleeds and constantly have blood clots, I am 41 but feel like 90 at the moment lol xx

      WOW!!!

That’s entirely too much iron daily!

That’s very dangerous I’m surprised u haven’t had heart attack yet. Here in US, nobody ever prescribes that much per day, not even IV iron that max’s out at 200mg liquid. You’d better question that dosage.

U reason? I just double checked at they are ferrous sulphate BP 200 mg 3x day, maybe that's why I feel worse, all I've done is slept, I think I'm Gona go a and e anyhow as not good and antibiotics aren't working being treated for a staph infection and thought I had 1 new cyst but noticed another, it's a nitemare x

Whenever patient receives IV iron it’s always done in hospital or clinic with close medical supervision during full length of infusion. They monitor ur blood pressure, heart rate, temperature, etc. cuz that type of iron causes heart attacks, aniorism, stroke, & even death. Pill form if taken at high doses WILL cause ulcers & internal bleeding!

Some docs are good some aren't lol, my local a and e failed to tell me I was anemic but did say I had infection levels raised and low potitsum levels was low, it was my go that informed me, he was gobsmacked that the doc at the hospital only gave me sando-k for 3 days, he said it is not enough and gave me 40 of them twice a day and they are disgusting lol, some docs are fantastic and others aren't xx

      I definitely agree with that!

Here in US good docs were easy to find before health networks were created. But nowadays they’re few n far between, it’s like u have to waste countless hours/money interviewing docs to find right one & that’s accepted by insurance. Earlier this year I had to fire my GI doc, Hemo/Onco doc. & now looking for new Endocrinologist.

They was absolutely fantastic, that is wot I mean, and so pleased I went, they done bloods and levels were pretty high, heart not too good, very poorly and these horrible skin abcess es, been fighting infection for long time, antibiotics don't work, got told I have early symptoms of sepsis, they pumped me straight away Throu i.v with antibiotics, I feel a little better, I am so pleased I went and maybe in a way it's a blessing as the local ent specalist is getting onto my specialists in London to push for surgery to be done asap because until I'm fixed they are saying I still have the infection, to be fixed and we'll is all I want so yes I'm one happy bunny xx
