Please help! Constant 24/7 Dizziness for YEARS!

Posted , 9 users are following.

Hello. My name is Jason and I am currently 14 years old. I am suffering horribly from dizziness almost 24/7. I feel extremely unbalanced and just in general very dizzy. Sometimes I get vertigo which will last 5 minutes - 12 hours but does not happen very often, it is usually just dizziness.

I have no idea why this is being caused, and I have gone to SEVERAL doctors. I been to two different ENT's and they said nothing is wrong, blood test said I was fine, CAT and MRI scan, found nothing, Neurologist suggested Vestibular physical therapy which I been doing for 3 months straight, and I have had almost 0 difference so far.

BACKSTORY -

I have always had extremely bad motion sickness since I was a toddler, but I never really had dizziness until around 3-4 ish years ago.  I had major panic attacks and extremely bad anxiety attacks for a couple years and still get the occasional stress and panic attack(s) but not often. When they started forming, I had a bit of dizziness and I always just thought it was just from stress, and in general it was nothing like it is today. To help my anxiety and panic attacks I was put on Sertraline which I still take today. (50 mg daily) and that helped somewhat but didn't change my dizziness. A year ago when my dizziness truly started getting bad I started taking homeopath and that helped my anxiety/panic attacks a bunch. and helped my dizziness for a bit but it came back really bad about 7 months ago and it's been ever since.

It seems like my dizziness is bad for like [example] 6 months, good for 5 months, bad for 8 months, etc. It goes in some strange pattern, and it's possible something triggered it but I am not sure. This time around it seemed like it started forming from a very painful open oral surgery I had, but again, not completely sure.

I have tried literally everything to stop it such as trying different foods, water, different activies such as taking off my glasses, and basically just a bunch of other smaller things. Nothing ever helps me except when I 100% COMPLETELY forget about it but it's almost impossible because I am constantly thinking about it almost the entire day and night. Also sometimes helps a bit when I lift something extremely heavy for some reason.

Please let me know down below if you need anymore information about this situation! If anyone figures this out, it would practically save my life.

Thank you, - Jason

    Hi Jason,

Well, I am really surprised you are so young. I have almost same symptoms since one year ago. Let me tell you my story. First of January last year at 6 o'clock in the morning I wake up to go to toilet. Quickly I lost my balance and everything was speeding around me for 10_15 seconds. Well after the 3rd episode I called the ambulance. They take me to the hospital. I done blood text etc...I been diagnosed with Vertigo. Since that day my life was completed change. In hospital I done Eplye Monuvre ( see YouTube) . No more episodes loosing my balance since that Monuvre. But I'm every day dizzy, confused and feeling very sick. I have been to GP several times, to ENT specialist who told me after MRI results that everything is happening because stress. Also I have to change my job and my life style otherwise I will be worse in time. Well just right now I'm taking Proponalol twice a day, I'm feeling a little bit better. What I suggest you Jason is that to start thinking about stress. You are younger than me so should be more easily for you. I'm 42 years old. So be strong and don't give up. Must be an answer in all this symptoms.... Good luck Jason.

Thanks for the reply! An ENT told me I was too young to have displaced crystals so I never had treatment for that. I am wondering if I have vestibular migraines and I am tracking my diet to see if there is any triggers. Being dizzy can cause me to be stressed, but I don't get dizzy from being stressed. I hope you continue to get better as well!

Ho my goodness Jason what an awful thing it is your going through, I have also suffered with dizziness for some time. I was diagnosed with BPPV2 years ago and had every treatment imaginable, finally on January 18th of this year I had surgery to plug my ear canal . Plugging stops the crystals coming out which caused the dizziness. I am only one week on and already feel so much better, the dizziness has gone ! I have after effect from the operation which are normal I'm told ( slight light headedness noises in my ear and a little facial numbness ).

All of which are 100 times better than how I felt before, surgery I was told it was the last resort and it took me a long time to make the decision as there are complications, but I found Dr Rae in the UK who had performed many of these ops and I'm glad to say it's the best thing I ever did.

So Jason I guess I'm trying to say could this be what you need ?.

I wish you all the very best and hope things get better for you. X

same for me. going on 1 year now, i dont know what to do. I look at a screen most of the day and wonder if that may cause it.

Panic attacks and anxiety issues, you have two options, either you can try medication, or you can try prayer and spiritual help.
