Please help doctor says IBS and prostatitis but paranoid about bowel cancer

Good evening. I've been feeling generally unwell for about 3 months. It started with really frequent urination and stomach pains and doctor said just a urine infection so was given antibiotics for a few weeks. The urine part cleared up after 3 4 weeks but I'm left with stomach and back pains and feel really tired all the time. I've hardly been to the doctors before but have been back 3 times now. the stomach pain is better but a dull stabbing in my lower groin made worse when I push in this area. the back pains are mainly lower back and sides but do seem to go up to the shoulder blade sometimes. I am yawning all day long and feel so miserable but not down about anything about from this. Doctor had said uti and did a finger up the you know where exam! He said the prostate was normal but a little inflamed because it hurt but nothing to worry about. He suggested Biokult which I have started a week or so ago, is this a normal thing to suggest rather than antibiotics etc? He said we all have a bit of IBS and I probably have that too as I said the pain in stomach seems to relate to eating and going to the toilet. Anyway to make matters worse I have fresh red blood when I go to the toilet. Even though I think I can feel what I can only assume is a hemorrhoid this has made me super paranoid and convinced me I have bowel cancer. I'm 40 and Male, I feel like I am detached from my body and in a bit of a daze most of the day, any advice appreciated.

If you have been on antibiotics, it is a good idea to take a probiotic product such as yoghurt to rebalance gut bacteria. This is why your doctor has suggested Yakult which is a probiotic yoghurt.I am unclear about your doctor telling you that everyone has a bit of IBS, This doesn't sound right to me because if that were true everyone would have bowel problems of some sort. However, this isn't the case because many people have normal bowels. Those of us with IBS, do not experience a normally functioning bowel when having a flare up. Saying you probably have IBS, does not sound like a definitive diagnosis. I would see someone else and ask for tests to rule out other causes before IBS is considered.

While IBS is possibility, taking your symptoms into account, I think you need more tests down since you only have had a urine test. Try not to over think things. I was diagnosed with IBS at the age of 42.

ask to see a GI DOCTOR and have them do a colonoscopy for you, there is no test to really rule out IBS but see a specialist and your dr seems like he does not care, NOT everyone gets IBS or bowel issues

hi sussexguy, i wouldn't accept the doctor:s words - we ALL have ibs? if that was the case the doctors would be inundated with people with this, the dietitians wouldn't have clinics for people, to be seen individually. fresh, red blood could mean hemarrhoids, piles, prostate difficulties or a tear. ask to see another DOCTOR not a nurse and insist they test further. i can/not well wouldn't if it was still happening believe this is still happening these days, if you don't get any luck seeing a doctor ask to see the manager - you deserve some decent answers.

So quick update it seems like the blood has cleared up in stools so must have been HEMMORIODS as I used some cream for this. Now left with lower abdominal or pelvis pain and burning pains around sides and back. Seem to be constipated all the time and feel really down. have headaches and almost like a brain fog with really bad fatigue. I've tried most suggestions from biokult to fybogel to buscopan but nothing really seems to work. Doctor has now sent me for a full blood count and referred to colorectal surgery team for a consultation bit appointment is months away! any ideas greatly received.
