PLEASE HELP! GERD / Laryngopharyngeal Reflux (LPR) causing mucus in sinuses

Hi there,
I am a 23 year old male and have been dealing with mucus in my sinuses for a few years now and can't figure out how to get rid of it. The mucus is thick, green, and chunky (sorry for the gross detail) and I have to spit it out of my mouth a few times a day. If I look in the back of my throat it comes down from the sinuses into my mouth. I wake up with a sore throat and occasionally the back of my throat is coated in sticky green mucus that I have to remove with a q-tip. I get stomach aches that sometimes put me in so much pain that I can't move.
I have seen coutless specialists (ENT's, Infectious disease specialist, Gastroenterologist, allergist) and nobody seems to be able to pinpoint the root cause.
The ENT that I went to scoped me many times and eventually suspected that the mucus was generating from my adenoids. I had an adenoidectomy and nothing changed. I have tried basically every nasal spray, allergy medicine, and antibiotic you can think of and nothing can get rid of the problem. I was on Bactrim for a whole month and it didn't knock it out.
I finally had an upper endoscopy (EGD) and the Gastro told me that I have GERD and that the mucus was occurring because of this. I have since been on a low fat diet, removed caffeine and alcohol from my diet completely, no acidic foods, no spicy foods, elevated the back of my bed, and not eating within 4 hours of laying down for bed. I have only been doing this for a week now and I haven't seen any improvement just yet (not that I expect to yet). My stomach aches aren't as bad or as prevalent but I still experience quite a bit of uncomfortable gas from time to time. The mucus has not changed since starting this diet and lifestyle change.
I guess I am just looking to see if anyone has experienced anything similar and if anything helped them. The past year of my life has been countless doctor's visits and I am starting to lose hope, but I am willing to do anything to fix this. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I do get mucous but mine is white and frothy which I am told is GERD. I always thought green mucous was due to infection, have you had any antibiotics and do you take a PPI. I was told when I last had tonsillitis that my throat was coated not heard of it with GERD

Hi, I wonder if you have the same as me. For the last 3 months I've been suffering from what the doctors are saying is 'Post Nasal Drip' or 'PND' and I just wondered if anyone was going through the same hell as me. It started with a cough which has now developed into maybe every other morning or every third morning coughing up so badly that I produce a load of clear white bubbly mucus liquid. Sometimes just a spoonful amount or sometimes what feels like half a cup full. I feel I have a bitter taste in my mouth all the time and feel like I'm producing more saliva than normal, I often feel like I have a lump at the back of my throat. I'm not actually sick although it's the same feeling as being sick and I go through the same motions as being sick and then after a load of dry retching I can finally feel the mucus coming up and then I eventually bring it up. Literally after that I start feeling better until the next episode a couple of days later. It happens first thing in the morning and really disrupts my morning until I bring it up.
I've tried everything like nasal douche, antihistamines, nasal sprays with steroids and so on. I've tried eating earlier as I thought there could be a connection with my acid reflux that I've had for years. I'm on omeprazole in the morning and ranitidine in the evening for the reflux. I'm now starting to think I might be lactose intolerant as my Dad is and I know that diary can cause nasal issues thus resulting in post nasal drip. Have you managed to sort out your Mucus issue?

Hi there,
I have the same problem plus heart burn. I am taking Nexium 40mg for my heartburn and it reduces my sinus problem. I also use my nose spray Dymista on and off when it is windy.
Hope it helps,
Thi
