Please help I'm not sure if I still have balanitis or not!

Hi everyone, About 2 weeks ago I got balanitis due to friction burn and have been taking anti fungal cream. I am sexually active, during this time only the glans were irritated but besides that I did not have any other symptoms. The only thing I still have is the red ring around my glans and the dry & cracking skin on the glans. My question is that does still look like I have balanitis? Any help is appreciated until I go to the doctors. Thank you!!

You do not have Balanitis - the dry cracked skin appearance on your glans is quite 'normal' for many men, as is the red ring, associated with the Corona / Rim of glans I take it you mean.

While dry and cracked skin is very common this is due to relatively unhealthy skin, and what this means for the majority of men is that they have exposed their penis to years of using soap and shower gel to clean their penis with. This eventually dries out the skin and results in what you see.

You would need to put a long-term change in place - wash with water only, in the shower try to prevent soap and shower gel from draining onto the tip end of your penis - for those uncircumcised - draw the foreskin as far forward as it will go before getting into the shower.

When you have showered and fully rinsed everywhere else on the body (expose the head of the penis) and fully rinse with the running warm, NEVER hot water - rub with the inside of the hand and fingertips to clean.

This is a long-term project as it will take an extended period of months for the skin on the glans / head to become more healthy, for some men this will take way in excess of a year before the skin on the glans even begins to look any different

Yes the corona is what I am referring to, are you saying that the corona right now looks normal? Thank you for your help so far btw its relieved so much stress off of me, something that my doctor could not do.

edit: just reread your message and I got my answer, thank you so much again!
