Please help! I think I have herpes!!

Hi, I recently had a sexual encounter (roughly 3 weeks ago) with a new partner, he didn’t use a condom and there was no insertion into the vagina, just rubbing on the clitoris. I had symptoms of severe thrush and small tearing, I am currently using an anti-fungal cream and it hasn’t done much. I’m not sure if these are tears or herpes blisters please help! I can try and attach a photo too.

How long after contact did you start noticing symptoms? Any other symptoms? Was he showing any visible symptoms? HSV does not need 'insertion' to be transferred - just skin to skin contact.

If you have visible symptoms (lesions /blisters /sores) go get them swabbed at doc/Emerg asap because you can find out almost immediately if it is hsv2 /1. If you wait till they have healed and do blood work instead, it can take 3-6 months for antibodies to build up to reflect positive on a blood test.
