Please help in severe pain

Hi everyone,

I'm new to this group and joined because I've been reading your experiences that sound similar to mine.

I've not yet been diagnosed with mono but my ent suspects it and waiting for some tests. I would really like some inputs from anyone if they've been through something similar and how to get through this.

My symptoms started on Oct 22 with two days of high fever, chills, and extreme fatigue. I thought it was the flu and took some otc medication and felt better. After two days I started experiencing mild pain behind the right ear and down the neck. The pain started getting slightly worse and on Nov 16 I visited my primary care who suspected an ear infection and gave me Amoxicillin for seven days. By the end of the course I started feeling worse and worse and my neck was swollen and painful, tender to touch. That's when i noticed the first lump in my neck on Nov 23rd. After a couple of days it seemed like it was getting better. But again on Dec 4th, the neck became swollen and painful. This time I had a sore throat and had trouble swallowing and the next day another lump on the neck showed up. Now after a week it seemed like things were getting better again but the same thing happened last night, severe pain in the neck, sore throat and swelling. During the course of two months I've lost 10 pounds.

I'm in so much pain and fear there's something really wrong. Do these symptoms sound familiar to anyone. Please help, I don't know if it'll ever get better.
