Please help. Lower back pain and pressure.

Posted , 4 users are following.

I have been having bad lower back pain and a lot of pressure with tingling and burning sensation and it goes down to my tailbone. It even hurts when you slightly touch it. Does this sound like a pinched nerve or herniated disc issue? I'd love feedback. Thank you so much.

My advice Jenni is get an MRI scan; no ifs or buts. You could well have identified the problem, but the scan will show the extent.

Yep, when you start getting the tingling and burning , it pretty much means your nerve in your spine is being pinched, or squeezed . It only get worse after that . The sooner you address this the less damage you will have . Although some doctors will try to give you pain meds and injections as opposed to fixing the problem . It seems in the uk they don't want to operate unless they have to , even if you are in major pain . But a MRI will show them what is going on and if you get the detailed report on the mri you can see what the problem is . It is easy to injure your back, your disc and just getting older can do it . I had the surgery . Mine started off with tingling in my hip , but then eventually went all the way down to my feet .

N8ster. How many weeks/months are you post op? I am 19 days post op and am looking forward to the 6 week mark, as recovery is a bit like Groundhog Day!

I figured it was something like that. I wanted to get some ideas on what it could be because my doctor likes to push stuff off sometimes so I want to go in there tomorrow with a case. I had brain surgery 7 weeks ago so I'm really depressed im

Having something else to deal with. My front thighs ache so bad as well. I the pressure and tingling are unbearable sometimes. I will be demanding a mri tomorrow.

I am 112 weeks post op and my spine is NOT fused yet but xrays say it is close . Doctor said he thought 2 more weeks and it should be fused . I am feeling better and it doesn't hurt as much when I bend . But it still hurts and the muscle on both sides of my spine gets stiff . Still better than it was . The numbness in my legs and feet is getting much better .

Jennifer yes the MRI is the first thing. then get as much information as you can from a specialist asking him all kind of questions. I have noticed that they only give you basic infos but if you ask them they will answer you on everything.

Be positive and things will get better a bit by bit. take care carlo
