After hsv1 diagnosis in January I'm not able to cope. Having spent the last few days in a state over it I feel like this is it and can't go on.

Hsv 1 is better than hsv2. To tell you the truth. Where do you have hsv1? Ia it on your mouth or genital

Genital, although a nurse thought I had something above my lip, never had a cold sore, didn't look like a cold sore.

I'm just not coping I don't want it, as no one does I know.

Today I feel the lowest I've been, I can't see a way forward with this.

I'm sorry your going through this . I have both if that makes you feel better. The cold sore I get it on my lip. And hsv I get it on my viginia.

I don't want it eighter. But I have to except it.

Is there treatment for it. Type 1 is better to deal with then type 2. With type 2 some people get recurrent break out. Type 1 I believe Is not like that. I have not had a break out since a year ago. Eating healthy and being stress free may help less break outs and symptoms.

Have you had recurrences? I'm so frightened... I can't deal with this.

Yes, I have had recurrences. I just take my meds. Or I just leave it alone . And just let it pass. I'm going to buy the olive leaf. A lot of people has been talking about it. I really wish this nasty virus can just disappear

I never got swabbed or got blood test taken I got diagnosed pretty much straight away that I had herpes. She may have taken swabs but once she told me everything became a blur and all I wanted to do was run out that doctors office and cry in a corner. I felt disgusting, I've taken time off work as I'm in agony and to be fair quite depressed about it all. I know what you are going through, I just keep thinking why me? And also, why isn't herpes being spoken about more as I've read it is extremely common! If that's so then why do I feel so alone in this? I'm slowly coming to terms with it and I think once my outbreak has passed I'll be ok. I have so many questions about it such as am I always going to need to use condoms now? Will anyone even want to be with me? How in earth am I meant to sit a potential partner down and tell him I have herpes and wait patiently to see if he even still wants me

    TLAN,

I was recently diagnosed with HSV 1 and HSV 2 I even had a retake test and still positive. However I've never had a OB nor a cold sore ever! I'm so shocked I don't know what do. However at first I thought my life was over as well. But truly it isn't. I pray and lean on God because I refuse to look at this as a curse on my life. Maybe depression hasn't hit because I haven't had a OB. I will continue to pray that I don't as I do not know where my mind would go. Please stay encouraged and stay in groups such as this I believe it helps.

Yes, praying is very helpful, stress free and positive thoughts, Are great. I know a lot of people that know they have it feels like is a curse. And it's not I think . Because the person spreading this around to innocent people. Their going to pay for what they need to us.

What made you get tested ? Not saying it a bad thing, but most people get tested when they have OB. That's what hate about it , you never know if you have it

I got tested because my boyfriend had been unfaithful and contracted Trich. Of course he told so I scheduled an appointment with my doctor and got a full STD panel and requested HSV testing as well. Never thinking in a million years that anything would come back positive besides the Trich....however it did and this was less than a month ago. Now I'm here!

A majority of HSV infected people don't show any symptoms. May be you will be one of them. Keep your immune system healthy and eat a balanced diet and there is a very good chance you will be among the majority.

If you ever get symptoms then there are anti-viral meds like Valtrex which are very effective. A suppressive therapy reduces the frequency of attacks by 80% and chances of transmission by simialr percent. After about 2 year most people develop immunity and the frequency and secerity of attacks diminish a lot.

At th e end note that there are many diseases much worse than herpes. So in a way feel lucky and be happy as depression or stress doesn't help at all.

I'm just in a state and see no way forward or accepting this. Think this is it I can't cope anymore.

Genitally, although nurse said I had a sore above my lip, it wasn't like a cold sore at all having worked in dentistry I've seen plenty.

So really don't know if it's in both places.

Not had any ob since then. Just in a state.
