    Hi Nikki,

The symptoms you mention are all symptoms of perimenopause but could also be caused by something else. Perhaps keep a diary of your symptoms and see if they come at certain times to see if there is a pattern to them. This may help to see if they are indeed linked to changing hormones. Have you noticed any changes to your menstrual cycle? Longer/shorter cycle length, change in the number of days bleeding, change in flow (lighter/heavier) and missed periods? There is also a post which explains 66 different symptoms of perimenopause/menopause on this forum which is a good read. It may help you in determining if this is what is going on. Sorry to hear you have a phobia of the doctors, could you maybe set up a telephone consultation with your doctor or a nurse to have a chat? I hope this has been helpful,

It certainly sounds like you are having a hard time, anxiety is horrible isn't it! Anxiety is another horrible symptom of perimenopause and seems linked to your hormones if the depo injection has helped. Did you have the other symptoms before having the injection? If not they could possibly be side effects. Do have that chat with your Doctor and let us know how you get on. Perhaps write a list of all the things you want to say/ask, I often find this helpful so I don't forget anything. In the meantime we are always here to listen and give some support,

Oh that sounds horrible Nikki, anxiety really is hard to live with. It causes so many physical and psychological symptoms. I'm so glad that you have found some relief. I tend to get health anxiety with all the symptoms I have going on, which only adds to the suffering. I've suffered with premenstrual syndrome for the past 9 years, which I was able to manage myself. But over the past 2 years all hell has broke loose and it's been a struggle and extremely tough at times.

With regards to the hot flashes, no energy, nausea and sweating you are experiencing I hope your doctor can offer some advice. It may be worth having some blood tests done to check your thyroid function, iron level and other vitamin levels to rule out deficiencies which can cause similar symptoms. Let me know how you get on,
