Please help me , prostatitis at 24. Has broken me

Posted , 9 users are following.

I had unprotected vaginal sex one time 12 month ago - a week after felt some pain im testicales.

Got tested too early but came negative

One of the test was urethral swab - after urethral swab which was 2 weeks after sex the uronation problems started.( had cycoscopt and had no stricture)

As of writing this this past year I have repeatedly tested negative for all std, urine. And prostate cultures all negative .

I'm on doxy for 3 weeks and feel MUCH better as able to have umpainful erection and I'm able to ejaculate!pain in tedtickes are almost gone ( please don't jinx myself)

Main problem is urination. ONLY after a bowl movement the frequent uronation comes for 7 hours or so. My penis gets enlarged almost like an erectiom but not quite . The uro who checked me said prostrate is not large but very inflammed and soft ....( he told me to find a diff Doctor btw) so I don't know if the antibiotics are really working or not. Which type of specialist can I go to who will actually work on helping me I'm only 24 and this year has destroyed me physcally mentally and emotionally .

If the antibiotics are helping with pain in penis pain in testicales urethra is not so hard and sore and I'm able to ejacialte and semen comes out with no pain maybe I should be on it longer and eventually it will effect the prostate? I hate pooping cuz that's where the uronation problems begin

plzzzzzzzzzz help me plz help me( I may have Payronies aswell slight bit these doctors literally place one finger on your penis and testi and say your fine it's so heartbreaking ... I'm in nyc btw)

Good morning, and sorry to hear about all your troubles. It sounds like you have chronic prostatitis.  Do a search here on this forum, there are some REALLY good threads on the subject.  And by all means find you another Doc,  if you are in NY there should be some of the best docs in the world there.  Just because all of the tests came back negative,it does not really mean anything.  There are several different types of prostatitis.

Good luck, and you can get it under control.

Hello and thank you for the response . Before the On my way! Nigjt stand I was perfect no urinary symptom no painful ejaculatipn nothing. So how is it bacterial if iv tested negative for everything except a semen culture and if it's non bacterial how can it make sense that I went from being a normal 24 yrl to this after that one night stand....

Any advice on the bowl movement issue ? As I'm feeling now a lot of the pain in the groin area has greatly subsided since iv been on the doxy but when I have a bowl movement the urine symptoms come back full force ( the fact that I have been responding well to the doxy should indicate it's bacterial somehow no?)

No unfortunately just because the doxycylene helps does not necessarily mean it is bacterial . It could still be non bacterial and the.doxycylene could help. After you finish that ask your doctor about switching to bactrim ds . You can take it for much longer with lots fewer side effects.

I have been on and off previous to this mess on bactrim for acne for several years I think I would be immune to it

So do you think if the antibiotics finish the painful ejaculatoin erections etc will come back?

Yes I hate to tell you but most likely it will come back. Maybe not right away but if it is chronic it probably will.

As far as being immune to bactrim that's not likely. Honestly if you were taking the bactrim for acne long term, it was probably keeping this in check. And when you came off of it then you began to notice this. Then the sex protected or unprotected just inflamed your prostate.

I must add I have only been giving any sort of medicine the past 4 weeks with doxy. Before that no body bothered to check my prostrate until I said maybe I have prostatitits then the softer said that could be... So for almost a year I didn't know wtf was wrong with me I went from thinking I had an std to stricture..

So in the four weeks I have taken doxy I feel much improved but still miserable and this is the first and only medication I was given so far

An MRI should give you some answers.

Mri of the prostate? I had a rectal exam I think that what it is where the softer stuck something in my but and saw in like sonogram images. He said my roseate was very inflamed and soft but not enlarged . That was before he gave me doxy now he doesn't want to take care of me so I don't know if it the doxy really helped or not

Find a different doctor to get a second opinion. It is not that yours is incompetent but that different doctors see different sets of patients and different cases and may have had different results with different treatments.

Try one of the teaching hospitals like Weill Cornell - NY Preb on East 61st Street or Mount Sinai on East 98 St.  They tend to be up on the latest techniques.

    Good luck.

Have you tried Horseradish root powder ? Taken orally, it is powerfully anti-bacterial with nearly no side effects even for long term use. Some studies have deemed it more effective than antibiotics. I use it with good effect whenever I get UTI, which has becoe more frequent for me recently due to retention.

I am not implying that UTI is the only cause of your issues, however it;s possible as your condition is not chronic.

It may or may not work for you, but is unlikely to do any harm, must consult your med practitioner before you decide to try it.

You probably need to see an infectious disease specialist, as they deal with situations like yours. Prostatitis can be caused by many things including fungus and that is the toughest to cure. Not sure what the bowel movements have to do with it unless you have chronic pelvic pain syndrome. Look into that as well. I have had CPPS all my life and the symptoms come and go. You should also see a Urologist as well. One or the other should give you some answers. Good Luck to you.

Thanks man, but how can it be I have ccpps if I never had any problems before that sexual experience . It was literally i pat myself on the back for getting laid and within 2 weeks all this happend.

Stool softners and (or) psycillium capsules will help with the bowel movement reaction.  The less pressure placed on the prostate the less it will flare up.

There seems to be a lot of men in your age group who are experiencing similar problems.  I'm wondering if there is something being taken to enhance the sexual experience that might be causing this?

Good luck with the new doctor and please let us know when you find the solution.

    Dear plzhelp,

I had sex 61/2 years ago and I had problems right away. Also had serious urinary problems of bph, bladder stones and retained urine. It was prostatitis and I still don't know to this day wether it was the sex that caused this or my urinary problems. My Dr. did a TURP because of my urinary flow only being a 3.2 cc/ sec, but the prostatitis symptoms are still with me to this day. Know one is truthful with me as to how I could have gotten this condition and I'm wondering wether I even needed the Turp or not. I do know that I was very, very uncomfortable. I still am very uncomfortable.

My heart goes out to you. i KNOW how you feel. I AM still searching for answers. You are searching for answers. The trouble is the medical field will not give you any answers. This issue is not important to them yet. Maybe if more people get this then they will finally open their eyes and try to do something about it. It's such a shame. To think that simple sex could cause this.Iv'e heard of std's and unwanted pregnancies, but PROSTATITIS. Who would have known.  All I want is the truth and I'm sure you do, too BUT people aren't truthful today. Drs. will throw anything in your face just to get you out of their offices. Maybe one day medicine will end the suffering that comes with this terrible disease that nobody ever heard of. I surely wish I had known about it. I would have taken every step I could to prevent myself from getting it.Nobody knows what it's like until you have it.

Sex can transmit infection into the urinary system. You can get yeast or bacteria into the prostate and then it is difficult to get rid of it. I have had this for years and my problems didn't start until I became sexually active. My doctor has not found any bacteria so they are leaning towards fungal and I know that my ex girlfriend had yeast problems off and on. So it makes sense, but it is so tough to get rid of it. I know how painful and miserable it can be. So don't give up keep seeking answers to your problem. Some doctor has to know something about it.

It is hard to believe sex could cause this, Craig. If I had only known. I would have completely abstained from sex years ago. Maybe I wouldn't have needed the turp as the Dr. didn't think it was prostatitis. 61/2 years later, here I am just like you, my friend. How do we get through this? How do you cope? Do you become very down as I do?
