Please help me. Strange abdomen/toilet/back issues...

I'm 43, male. Benn in pretty good health most of my life. Three years ago, I noticed occasional blood in my stool when going to the toilet. I had a colonoscopy after seeing my GP. One polyp was found and removed. Was later found to be non-cancerous. I am supposed to be having another colonoscopy around now (standard procedure after three years) and am awaiting an invitation. Given the state of the NHS right now, this could be quite sometime.

However, my toilet activities have never, in my opinion, been quite right. Quite a lot of fudge-like stools (sorry) and I probably go more than I once did. Sometimes tummy pains. I also get occasional constipation and sometimes feel like the bowels haven't totally emptied.

But in the last 6 or 7 months, things have got a little odder. I get this occasional 'sensation' in parts of my back. It's sometimes lower-down and sometimes more middle and it really is only apparent when I'm lying down at night or something is pressing against it. It almost feels like some organs somewhere underneath the flesh are rubbing against something; the best I can describe it as if there's a soft lump underneath my back but when you run your hands over the skin, nothing is there! To say it's a pain or an ache would be misleading...it just feels rather odd.

In these more recent months, the stool situation has probably got a bit worse and I have pretty bad gas, particularly first thing in the mornings. I still get occasional blood when wiping (though not always) and sometimes have acid indigestion. I have no idea if the back thing is related to the toilet stuff.

Any ideas, people?
