Hi have you suffered this before? I've had the same for 6 months now and it's particularly interesting you have pain in the left cheek because I have had that for 3 months. Also my upper teeth/gums have been affected especially at night when trying to sleep my cheek hurts like it's inflamed. The maxillary sinus is in both cheeks so in my case I think they are inflamed. I have chest tightness on some days too espe3 when my Jose is completely blocked. I'm hoping to get an xray or something soon to confirm it's my sinus causing all the trouble.

      Hiya

Atleast you could get a scan. My GP, despite 5 or 6 visits over the summer, has never mentioned a scan once and that's what I wanted just for peace of mind. He has just highered the dose of amitripyline to try calm the pains in cheek's (which I had on the right side last night). I'm going to demand an xray or something next time I see him in January. Hope your scan comes out okay and shows just a little inflammation or something. Please let us know when you have results.

My xray report says, there is considerable mucosal thickening present in both maxillary antra with mucosal thickening occluding the ostis and infundibula at present. The mucosal thickening extends into the middle meatus region on both sides. There is some mucosal thickening present bilaterally in the middle and anterior ethmoidd. The left fromtal sinus has not developed to a significant degree and the right frontal sinus is hypo plastic but clear. There is no substantial mucosal thickening in the sphenoid sinuses. In the nasal airways i notr that there is prominment deviation of the nasol septum to the left side anteriorly. This does narrow the left nasal airway somewhat. There is however no substantial mucosal thickening seen associated with the nasal turninates. There are no masses or polyps visible. No abnormality is indentified in the postnasal airspace. Conclusion - prominment maxillary sinus mucosal inflammatory change is noted with mildrr mucosal thickening in the ethmoid air cells. Nasal septum deviation to the left side.
