Please help! Stomach issues for over a month, I just want to feel normal again!

For the past month and a half, I have been experiencing a lot of stomach discomfort, which includes burning sensation in stomach, nausea, chills, along with GERD symptoms. I've had a CT scan, blood tests, abdominal ultrasound, all have come back normal. Was tested for H. Pylori (blood) which also came back negative. Currently on Ranitidine 2x a day. Also taking Mylanta tablets as needed for heartburn. My bowel movements are not what they used to be. I notice I get worse before a bowel movement and get cramps after. I'm doing better throughout the day but wake up every single night with upset stomach. I've been to my Drs so many times this past month with no answers and I'm getting very frustrated, worried, and stressed. I was healthy prior to this. I don't smoke, drink, didn't even drink coffee! What is going on?! Going back on Monday to ask to see a GI specialist. Anyone ever experience anything like this? Any tips or suggestions? I'm thinking it can be an Ulcer, gastritis, IBS, gluten intolerance but not quite sure...

    Hi Jnetbee

Perhaps it would be a good idea to keep a food diary each day and see if there is a particular food or drink causing the sickness..see what transpires.....if you get nauseous one day and then another day check to see if you ate the same foodsor drank the same drink on those particular days.

Also, ask doc to check again with stool test or breath test for HPylori because it doesn't always show in a blood test.....best wishes....

O God , I hope you find an answer ! I started having upper abdominal pain 8 months ago. A lot of neausea. Had endoscopy. Found H-Pylori and stomach inflamation. Took 14 day triple treatment. Never got any better. After another 2 months had nuclear CT scan and hida scan. Doc said liver , gallbladder , pancreas and ducts were fine. Pain and neausea continues all day and all night. Trying to schedule a colonoscopy now. Don't know when I'll get that yet. Such pain and neausea has taken my life away. Don't know how long I can live on like this on a daily basis. Have also started losing about a pound a month. I guess docs see so much of this , they don't quite understand the ramifications on someone's life. So I hope you don't get like I have and find answers.

Ask them to check your gallbladder specifically. It can really make you very ill.

They check for certain enzymes in the bloodwork plus they do a sonar.

Take a good probiotic daily.  Stop dairy, red meat, gluten, etc.  Keep a food diary to see which foods upset your stomach more.  Check the side effects of the medicines you are taking.  Some cause stomach upset and pain.  Try herbal cures such as slippery elm, ginger or chamomile tea, peppermint, etc.  Make an appointment to see a specialist.  Hope you feel better soon.

Hi why don't you try a gluten free diet for at least two weeks. But you have to  check all the labels as in lots of things. Or maybe a dairy free diet.

As I found out you are not alone wit h regards to this poblem and I myself have been sufferin for 8 months - longer but the last 8 months the worse. Like you this health problem has taken over my life and I  want to get back to being myself.  However I found many people who were  tested for H Pylori and were given the antibiotic mixture to fix it only got worse and it didn't help. When I was tested I refused to get the anitbiotics  and went to the healt store. They suggested I take Mastic Chios Gum and a probiotic with hospital bacteria. I took 1 of each 3 times a day for 3 weeks and felt better. However I was also told that H Pylori can return. I think mine has and liek you I have been to the doctor several times. He feels my problems is depression and put me on antidpressents that really made me feel sick. I stopped taking them and have gone back on the products I used before for HPylori and so far feeling better. Once I am feeling better I am going to check with the health store again to see what products they have for depression. The doctors just don't understand what we are going through. Hope this may be a bit helpful to you and to others reading this blog.

Why did you use that Gum? Do you have pain all the time , all these 8 months ? What are your symptoms and where is ur pain located? Did you do endoscopy and other testings ? I had H pylori too and I was on antibiotics for two weeks now I am on omeprazole for four weeks and these pills are making me sick ! I am worst than I was before . Have stabbing pain in upper abdomen and it goes in my back and chest . It is under breastbone . I am afraid that H pylori bacteria made cancer coz I have this pain for four months . I cant live my life coz of this !

I go through my day feeling like I have the flu and have to take a antinausea pill. I feel tired and my body aches all over. I have bad cramping pains in the lower part of stomach and feel like I am going into labour. The upper part of my stomach goes into spasms and really get tight and then release and this could go on for 1/2 hour or more. I get pain in my chest area which would go around to the back and in the rib cage area. I feel as if something is  stuck after eating and would get alot of hearrtburn. Many people wo did the antibiotics for the H Pylori said it never worked and they felt sicker. I was told the J Pylori only fed on this and seemed immuned and some poeple did the treatment 2 or 3 times and were worse off. So when I was told to get the prescription I took it but never filled it. LIke I said I went to the healt food store and talked with them. They sold me a product by New Roots which is a very strong hopital bacteria probiotic and it is expensive and you only get 30 capsuls to a bottle. Then the other product is by Classic Series and it is called Mastic Chios Gum which is also in a capsule form, did not cost that bad and I forget how many are in a bottle. When I took these I felt better and life was bearable. I then had a bad vertigo attack and some other problems and was put on antiboitoics and medication for the vertigo and then I got sick all over again. Been to the doctor and had serveral tests done and like everyone else they all came back clear. Then because I have been under some stress lately the doctor felt it could be depression which could lead to some of the symptoms I had so I was prescribed antipressent pills and wow they really raised havoc on my body. So I went to my computor and googled about my problem and that is how I got onto this site. After reading alot of the blogs I came up with people on antiobotics ended up being sick. So went to the health store and got the products and have started on them again been 4 days now and starting to feel better. If stress is part of my problems I have a name of a couple of products to get but was told to wait till I finished my 3 weeks of takiing the products I purchased. I would rather use health products than prescriptions. If all is well in 3 weeks I will be back to my doctor to let him know.
