Hi, I am 47 and also had strange aches and pains in ribs (though not the tight hug feeling described), legs and joints, all day every day, some days worse than others, for last 3 months. Pain often feels tingly/burning. Also had involuntary muscle twitches, mostly in legs, but these have mostly gone since taking Horse Chesnut supplements, good for restless legs apparently. Have Mirena, so not sure if peri or not, but am right age I guess. Also was very worried it was MS - but had brain & spine MRI, all normal. Those of you still worried, could you see a neurologist? Even with just an examination mine said was pretty sure not MS, but did the MRI to check. Also been checked for inflammatory factors, so arthritic stuff, all normal. Still worry its something else serious as struggle to believe hormones can do this to you, but then I read so many similar stories on this forum. This all came on so suddenly, really blindsided me!

thank you for your comment, I had brain mri it came with some scattered foci in white matter but MS specialist and also ALS specialist bith said its nothing to worry about. no white spots.

I dont know what causes all this but since my all tests come clean I assume it is peri... I have heavy bleeding this month, cant even go out 😦

Ah that's very reassuring if MS and ALS specialists say all ok. Yes, I think it must be peri! So unfair us ladies have to go through this. Hope you feel better soon xx
