Pleased to meet you.

I hope you don't mind me introducing myself to you.

I am very new to this forum but have already been welcomed by Vanessa and Jacee and I know, from reading previous posts, that you are very positive and caring too. (Realised this when I read Vanessa's post about Anti trypsin deficency last April).

I am still going through many mixed emotions because of my diagnosis but I won't let the b*gg*r get me down.

I haven't smoked since Thursday 5th August. I keep thinking I am going to wake up feeling better but each day is different and today was a bit of a short of breath one - I blame the windy weather!

My next meeting with resp. nurse is in a weeks time so will probably post again then.

I hope that you are feeling a bit stronger. Take care.

Ann

evening all and hi ann. I have just spent 30 mins. posting and I have lost it all. I spent nearly 4 hours with talktalk trying to get the internet connected- at last it works. My front door lock is broken , Lifeline does not work properly, my 'carers' turn up at any time of the day ( mostly the wrong time) and God knows what else is wrong - very frustrating!Oh and I can't give up the fags. Is there much point now . I'm end stage c.o.p.d. do I want to make life harder? My excuse anyway. Should have done it 15 years ago when first diagnosed. Please everyone don't stop giving up giving up. On a brighter note my 'ex'took me down the seafront in a wheelchair(sad) and it was good to be in the land ofthe living in the sunshine. I'm all doom and gloom not like me at all. Actually feeling quite bright now until I b..... this up again.Guess what, I am diabetic and am currently filling myself with turkish delight- oh what the hell! Ann, please tell us about yourself, we are a friendly lot on this forum. I have numerous other complaints and hope to be of help. LUv to everyone. Carole :D :D :dog:

Hi Carole -:cat: :cat: :dog: :dog: lovely to hear your irreverent voice.

    1. Don't worry, most of us have problems with TalkTalk at some point or another, but they are getting better.

    2. Get someone to fix your front door lock - council, neighbour, private joiner, whatever, just get it fixed before someone streals the crown jewels or is bedazzled by your beauty and enters to ravish you.

    3. Tell whoever is responsible for your lifeline to fix it as a matter of urgency - or give me their number and I will tell them (none too politely) for you.

    4. Tell your carers you need a schedule of visits and that you will expect them to stick reasonably close to it as you are still the one in charge.

    5. Stop smoking immediately - it's never too late.

    OR...........................

Have another fag, wash it down with a stiff whiskey, do wheelies in your chair and say what the hell! Carole, I know which option you are likely to choose. You have always done things your way so why change now? Keep smiling girl cos you know life is what you make it.

Can I just say to anyone else reading this - Carole has been there done that and probably knitted the tee shirt. If you need advice a post or private message links you to a lot of experience and a wicked sense of humour.

    Love you Carole

Thanks Jan ( I now know your name). Guess which option I am going for! My door has been sort of mended at a cost of £25 for 5 mins. work. Now my door bell does'nt work and my nebuliser is playing up. I guess its repayment for the life I lead. Beautiful day here in Eastbourne. Oh to

    be ravished as you suggested!

    Hi Carole,

Glad to hear you got your door fixed, also well done you for using a laptop - I've tried using my daughter in law's a couple of times and always get in a muddle with it! I'm afraid I'm a bit of a dunce when it comes to technology - And 'technology' encompasses many things in my world. I never got the hang of using video's until they went out of production, still haven't got the hang of mobile phones and only recently sent my first 'e mail'.

How are your 'war wounds' doing? I am hoping that your shoulder is on the mend and that the morphine is helping the SOB. I was surprised to find myself seriously SOB today when I was out shopping - I was just starting to panic when I realized that I hadn't turned my 02 on - honestly, I felt such a dope - I'm sure COPD addles the brain !

Well, take care Carole, and as Ann would say - don't let the b*gg*r get you down! talk to you again soon, with lots of love Vanessa xxx
