pmr causing bleeding on forearms

I have been on Prednisone for almost 3 years and also Cartia for 1 year, because of a slight stroke last year.   I have had PMR for 3 years and am on 5 mgs of Pred. hoping to reduce to 4mgs in a couple of days.

My problem is very bad bruising on my forearms which has got much worse since I had a Cortisone injection in my lumbar back because of sciatic nerve problem, most of these bleeds are spontaneous and it does not take a knock for it to happen.  My skin is so thin on the  forearms, seems to be okay elsewhere it, can rip off with some of these bruises.  I am covered in bandages when I go out as people tend to stare and wonder what is wrong.  My gp want's me to see my Haematologist again, but I cannot get into her for about 3 months.  I am wondering if anybody else has this problem this bad.  These bruises can start off very small and spread to about 2 to 3 inches across.

Could a high level of cortisol cause this? or Adrenal glands kicking in?
