PMR Christmas Poem

Polymyalgia after 3 years……………. December 2018

At Christmas Miss Poly

will be three years old

Mr Pred who’s the steroid,

He helps with the load

I’m now down to 6

Which proved very slow

And the drop for one week

Leaves me feeling quite low

There’s only one answer

to keep me pain free

Take two thirds in bed

And one third after tea

I’m lucky I guess

Mr Pred does his stuff

He works really hard

Then I don’t feel too rough

And when I bounce back

from the horrible drop

I’m out and about

And I try not to stop

I see all my friends,

try to have a good time

But I’m careful to cut

down carbs, sugar and wine

And as I drop down

I am hoping to see

A gradual improvement

and find the old me

And eventually make it

to down under 5

And feel more normal,

be completely alive

So all of us live

with eternal hope

And battle the demon

and try hard to cope

Remember that star

burns up high in the sky

So we mustn’t complain

and ask reasons why

Happy Christmas to All

and a Happy New Year

Let’s all face the future

with cheer and less fear

We’ll raise glasses high

and give a High Five

And just thank the Lord

we are all still alive

HAPPY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE AND A MORE PAIN FREE 2019 Diana

    I love it ! 😃

I am in the same boat, 31/2 years and down to 6, "two thirds in bed, and one third after tea".

Thank you Flutterbie! I learnt to split from this fabulous forum early on and it literally saved me when I was in desperate pain in the night. Then found Pred acted like a sleeping pill for me. The dropping is getting slower so bring on 2019 and it will be interesting to see the progress. Fingers crossed for all PMR sufferers.
