PMR naturopathic treatment

Just curious. Has anyone with PMR tried treatment from a naturopath?
If yes, did you have any success?
I realize the Prednisone is a necessity but wonder if naturopathic treatments help a PMR sufferer reduce more quickly and maybe even eliminate it all together (probably wishful thinking I know).
I am considering giving it a try as after one year and at 12 mg of pred and Actonel (which can also cause muscle and joint pain) I still have much discomfort every morning. I resort a to Tylenol 3 most mornings to get some relief.
All feedback is appreciated.
Good luck to all.

A naturopath gave a presentation at a library program I attended a few years ago. He was specifically asked about polymyalgia and he said that he could help with things like nutrition and supplements and dealing with side effects and so on but only a regular physician could provide the medication which would work. He, the naturopath, had no treatment which would help the PMR directly.

It might be worth at least one visit to get that advice. I presently take numerous supplements and take turmeric and ginger daily but not sure if it is really helping.

I am new to PMR, but if it is a autoimmune inflammation, it is in the same family as RA a.o. So I try to get more antioxidants like ginger, turmeric and black berries. As I am tapering, and new I can´t say if it help, but I guess it does not hurt?

That's the thing. I think naturopaths may be able to help the body achieve a better, more healthy balance and that can only be a good thing which should help our recovery. But any reputable one will not lead you to believe that they can find you a substitute for pred.

well I cook a "shot" of fresh turmeric, ginger, chili, lime, blackberry and sea buckthorn. Boiling it in water and sweeten it with honey. I drink a 6 cl a day - it also tastes good 😃 Strong like a drink ...

What is a cl ? You said you drink six a day.
Sounds like a good mixture and I will definitely try it.
Sea buckthorn is a new one and it sounds great to take daily. I can get an organic oil from Amazon - I guess you only need a few drops, am I right?
