PMR, Prednisone, lower leg issues

Posted , 5 users are following.

have worked my way down to 7-1/2m of prednisone...slowly on my way to 7m and the lower leg issues seem worse. Have actually rested more than usual the past two weeks starting this taper.

usually put a pillow between my legs and feet at night, but lately

it is not enough....the discomfort and sensitivity keeps me awake.

It is not leg cramps. They are ok during the day for walking...but if I lie down for a nap I have the same leg issues, but worse at night. I take calcium, VIT D, C, K2, fish oil, multi vitamin. Any suggestions?

I take calcium, VIT D, VIT C, K2, a multiple, fish oil. Thank you!

Have you tried taking magnesium?  It can often be helpful for leg discomfort.

Kathy my legs and hips are terrible at night. I take pain killers just before I go to bed for this .They are perfectly fine during the day ,I don't know really how to dis scribe my pain only like a dull aching slow pain .you know if ever you have period pains ,mine is like that ,as soon as I get up ,by magic it's gone ....... That is how my legs are...good description, period cramps! I have never tried pain pills...thought pain pills did not work wi PMR. In the morning it is "over", although if I lie down for a nap I only feel discomfort when I try to put one leg on top of the other. I will try the pain pills at night...thanks!??

Soaking in a warm bath with Epsom salts can enable your body to absorb magnesium through the skin, so you get the double benefit of warmth to relax muscles and soothe aches, and magnesium which does same.
