    Hi reggie

I started off on 15mg, upped it to 20mg and finally finished on 25mg for 3 months before pain stopped enough, now 20 months into PMR and slowly got down to 13.5mg but its been hard. Stick with it and all the very best. Dave (tavidu)

Not since they put me on them at 40 mg I'm now on 12 and symptoms are bad. How you feeling now ? All the best

I've had to go back to 40mg several times (for GCA) and to 30mg (for chest infections) several times.

However, I'm now happily on 5mg daily for life - been there for 3 years now.

I started at 20 mg.  Four days later with little improvement I was upped to 25 mg.  Another few days and symptoms got even worse.  Every muscle in my upper and lower torso was screeming.  Put up to 40 mg and 12 hours later I was pain free,

Docs rushed my reduction, which resulted in relapse 2 months later.  Back to 40 again.  I haven't been pain free since.  My main on-going problem is with cement legs that don't want to carry me far.

I learned from this forum and others about the importance of slow minimum 10%. reductions.  It's been about 20 months since the relapse and I've made it down to 11 mg,  Lots of issues along the way that caused a few stalls, and lots of side issues and pains that come along side PMR, but slow and steady is working so far.

Started at 30 mg but reduced to 15 quite quickly.  No problems during this time except the usual side effects of Mr Fred.  From 15 started the slow reduction and am now at 4.5 after 19 months.  Just started 4 mg (one day this week) using the dead slow and nearly stop method.
