I am so upset and feel down. I upped the prozac to 30 a week ago and finally was feeling better, less depressed and more hopeful. Now with my period around the corner I feel like I have taken so many steps backwards and I feel so low. Will I feel better again, my period always throws me off horribly with depression and I am hoping that I will feel good again once it passes. I upped the dosage to 40 today, hopfully that will help too!

Hi carli .. don’t worry chic that is just normal with Prozac, I’m in my menopause and have not had a period since March this year, I’m on 60mg of this med, and feel great, depression as gone ( well mostly ) but even tho I don’t have a period once a month I to have those symptoms and feel low and fed up, but within a few days it’s gone and I’m ok then, so if your still having periods you will get that feeling of low or fed up, but that’s just normal for us woman lol, but it won’t last you will be fine again so don’t worry, just exspect it at the time of month that u may feel low, but at least not for long.. big hug 🤗xx

      Thanks Dawn,

SO Upsetting because I really felt on the mend and I let this take me backwards and just totally panic and get in my head. This time of the month really wrecks havoc on me, hoping that the 40 mg will help me and get me back feeling good again. I stared to have control over my thoughts and just felt more stable and hopful. I hope I can get back to that place again. Thanks for your sweet reply xxx

Hi carli, dont despair !! It's your hormones doing this! It overrides the meds, take this on board and just go with it, the meds are still working , but I would advise not upping or downing your dose without chatting to your gp! The meds need to be taken on a regular and prescribed dose .we all have off days, but we come up again !!! Bloody hormones , lol , don't worry , keep chatting on here honey !!! Big hugs xxxx

      Hi Pam,

Your so right the hormones totally override the medication, I hope once it's more in my system next month will be better. I sure just want to feel better again, I feel so down right now. I hope in a few days I feel the relief I was beginning to have. Thanks for your sweet response, it's great to have the support! Xxx
