Hello

After almost 3 months of bad back pain last week I was diagnosed with PMR. My inflammation markers were very high do the doctor put me on 20mg of prednisone.

He said I would feel better in a couple of days, well today is my 4 th day and my symptoms are maybe 40% gone. I was told that because my markers were so high it might take a little longer to work.

Has anybody had the same experience

I am just so tired of this pain

Thank You

Hi Angie, Sometimes with prednisone it can take a bit longer to get up to the level you need to stop the pain, wait a few more days...have you tried things like heat, it can help relax the area, increase blood flow & help the medication get to the area a bit better....after the heat relaxes you, if you can do some light walking or moving around, it can help prevent stiffness(also increasing circulation)...If after another few days if its not improving, call your Dr...he may want to extend or increase the dosage or have another plan...Good Luck, hope it starts kicking in NOW, stay hydrated and don't skip meals the Prednisone can be rough on your tummy!!

Thank You for replying.. I guess because my cause was three months of horrible pain it took long for the prednisone to work. It finally starting kicking in on the 8th day. I have also started eating better and not eating things that are not good like carbs and sugars.

Starting Wednesday my doctor is going to start lowering my dose, keeping my fingers crossed it doesn't come back.

      Again Thank You. ๐ŸŒป
