    Hello.

    I am 56 and was diagnosed in August. I do not have GCA.

    I take prednisone to control the symptoms. I started on 15mg daily but have been able to reduce to 10mg as of 7 days ago.

    We all cope in different ways. The best thing I have learned is to be kind to myself.If I am in a lot of discomfort I take it really easy and when I feel good I still take it easy. this disease is sneaky and very indiscriminate. I allow myself to get angry about this illness, but thinking about some other nasty illnesses I consider myself lucky because this IS manageable.

    I have found that everyone on this forum is understanding and supportive.

    We are all here to share our stories and support each other through the good and the bad !
