Pompholyx Eczema after Athletes Foot

Hi all. Please can someone help?
About 5 weeks ago i developed really severe athletes foot - now not ever having athletes foot before this was really shocking to me. The doctor prescribed Canesten HC cream and erythromycin - as i am allergic to penicillin and it is now beginning to feel normal again. The problem is now that i seem to have developed the same as what was on my foot on my right hand. I went back to the doctors and he gave me Fucibet cream and told me to continue to take the erythromycin - but i've only been able to take 2 of these a day rather than the prescribed 4 as they were makiing the side of my face burn. The condition has just been getting worse and worse and when i went back to the doctors the beginning of the week she told me to keep using the cream, prescribed another lot of erythromcin and some dermol handwash/moisteriser cream and suggested i wear a cotton glove to bed. The doctors haven't diagnosed it as Pompholyx Eczema but after extensive research on the internet this is what i'm 99% sure it is. I have got a few blisters developing on my other hand and am absolutely terrified it's going to spread like wild-fire. The blisters on my right hand are all over my fingers, palm and beginning to go to the base of my wrist and between my thumb and finger towards the back of my hand. The ones on my palm seem to be merging together and are quite pus filled. My other problem is that after applying the Fucibet cream is does look really red and angry, my fingers seem to swell a bit more and is drawing liquid out. Is this a good thing or is it as i suspect and that is i am allergic to the Fucibet cream?
Any advice would be gratefully recieived or indeed and cures, either by prescription or natural cures or self help.
Please, please i am desperate as it is now making everyday chores almost impossible and even using the computer is agonising
Thank you in advance..

Took the last of the antibiotics Sunday evening. My hands at that point were just tender, peeling and rough skin which was shedding but had got away from anymore blisters appearing and no need for plasters or dressings on my hands. Went back to the doctors yesterday and he wanted me to have a break from the antibiotics. Gave me a cream that is thicker than the Dermol and not as greasy as the Zeroderm which is called Zerobase which he said is better than E45. Used the cream a couple of times yesterday rubbing it in like a hand cream BUT was then up in the night - 3am! with terrible itching between my fingers on both hands and ended up dunking them in cold water to try and calm it down, i then plastered them in the Dermol lotion and back on with the cotton gloves for the rest of the night. This morning i woke to find small watery blisters appearing again on my fingers and on the fresh skin on one of my palms. Is this because i am off the antibiotics and the condition is still in my system or is it because of the new cream? I am so worried and paranoid that i have come this far but it's all going to come back again Have made another doctors appointment but cannot get in until tomorrow afternoon. Please help/advise anyone??

Are you still using the fucibet? When I get flare ups with itching and small watery blisters like you describe I immediately apply betnovate cream which my doctor gave me for this purpose.

I'm asking because a topical steriod is the standard treatment for eczema. When my doctor prescribed me betnovate she said that if that doesn't work she'd put me on a more potent one.
Is there any reason why you're not using a steroid cream?

Hi mazria. I've read your updates from to-day's visit to the doctor. He must believe that antibiotics and emolliant will do the biz. Far be it from me to question a doctor's judgement but I am surprised that he has not given you a steroid cream. Just google 'topical steroids for eczema'. If the doxycyline & zerodouble work then all's well but if they don't then ask why he's not given you a topical steroid. All the best. Let us know either way. Patrick

A Dermatologist once gave me Diprobase ointment. I don't know how it compares with Zerobase.
I really feel for you Mazria & you do need specialist help. I'll message you.
Good luck.

Patch testing requires 3 visits.
Glad the swab's normal, no infection!
Meaning most likely excema, contact dermatitis, TSW or environmental allergies. Outside Lupus.
Do you have any feelings about what it is?

In the South West of the country Bellla. I know that when the grass has been cut nearby that my hands are more prickly - like now! There's also a vase of carnations that have appeared in the house - could they affect?
My thoughts are eczema and that the pollen count isn't helping one little bit at the moment
