Poor sleep truggers my heartburn.

Posted , 3 users are following.

I have found over time that nights of sleeplessness tend to precede episodes of my heartburn attacks. it is so constant that I have a bad night and just wait for the pain and distress in the day. It strikes sometimes when on my feet in the kitchen making breakfast. I sleep inclined and don't eat late or big dinners.

Any useful advice will be appreciated.

You need to elevate your throat all night.

I've done this for 5 years.

Buy a wedge, which is a triangular rubber cushion on which you lie your neck and head on.

Don't forget to put a pillow b/w your head and the wedge for even more support.

The backflow of juices from the gut to the larynx will stop. You'll feel much better.

Have you tried Gaviscon advance? It doesn't last all nigh, but I take it before I go to bed, then, when reflux wakes me up, a couple of hours later, I take another dose. I have about 3 doses a night. It doesn't stop it completely, but it helps a bit.
