POPCORN

There are so many recent studies that say that seeds and popcorn are safe. I had diverticulitis once, in 2006. I had to go to the hospital as the pain was incredible. I was given anti biotics, cleared it up, and spent 2 years terrified to touch any seeds. After that time, I did start eating peanuts, cashews, walnuts and so on. Tomatoes, cucumbers, squashes, and sometimes bread with the sesame seeds. Once in a while, cream corn in Shepards pie.. I always gulp down a few bottles of waters after the seeds and corn though. I have not had any real problems, or been hospitalized since that 1 episode.

But popcorn. Sweet sweet popcorn. It has been 14 years since I have had a single piece. So whats the scoop guys. Are any of you eating it and doing okay? The studies say its fine, but I would like to hear from people that I know who actually have the disease.

    Jess,

I did the same with avoiding all the seedy foods for well over a year. I did have a resection surgery at the end of that year. Now I am a year away from the surgery. My situation is a little different from yours given my surgery; however, i started eating seeds again and zero problems from what i can tell.

    Best,

    Daniel
