I had my hip replaced 8 years ago at the age of 13. I had no problems to speak of up until 2 years ago when i got pragnant with my son. the doctors told me it was due to my weight. since then i have had my son and am still expeariencing problems. now my hip is popping and it is extreamly painful. my doctor has done xrays and says there is nothing wrong, but i can't put weight on my leg with out crying. the popping has worsened and it now pops ever time i bairly move it. can anyone tell me what to do my doctor wont do anything about it?

Did u see an MD or was it and orthopedic surgeon.

Because what you are describing are a hip issue.especially not being able to bare wt.on it.

Would you be willing to go to another os for second opinion?

If it was me I definitely would.

Seems like there maybe muscle weakness or socket has changed. Not everything does up.

Actually the radiologists read my hip x ray ad normal.z Do my doctor didn't look at the xray only read the radiology report.Do I took the same xray to orthopedic doctor. He look at the same xray and showed me the abnormalities in this same xray also took to another OS He saw the same thing.after surgery he said that the acetabulim was flat on one side which did not show up in the xray.I'm give and half months post op.going do much better.let us know what ur doingsmile

Hi, Sorry to hear you have developed  a problem. From your description it sounds very like what I experience. With me I don't have it all of the time  but when I do get it, I also cry out in pain as it feels like  I have been stabbed.  As I said I have not had mine looked into yet but I do feel it is something to do with nerves. Also having a bad back it may well be connected. I would advise not to give up. The doctor has to appreciate that you now have a child and you are only young. Something  must be done. Keep going back and don't let him/her intimidate you. You are the one who is suffering.
