Positional Vertigo, and Vestibular Neuritis.y

I suffered from Neuritis ten years ago, went on for a couple of years. Then a month ago, I had Positional Vertigo in the same ear. Does anyone know whether you can get both? Does one trigger the other?

I recall reading that it is not uncommon for something (a virus or even migraine) to "attack" an ear, eventually resolve, and then go on predispose one to BPPV (loose crystals) in that ear. Presumably from some minor damage or alteration of structure/function from the original insult.

I am doing pretty good right now. I seem to get flares, then have good periods. I have a pinched nerve in my neck and TMJ on same side as ear/facial pain issues, so the Dr thinks that is triggering my this.

yes you can have both but the bppv should go away soon even if not treated. bppv that sticks around or lasts long periods of time could be something else.

Thank you. I had my second Epley Maneuver a few days ago, so I think that is better, but the Neuritis is sticking around, hopefully it will get better.
