Hi I have. Been on paroxetine which is the cheaper version of SEROXAT. I was on fluoxetine or Prozac but it stopped working and my anxiety didn't improve. I have been taking it for about 10 weeks. By slowly coming off the Prozac and increasing the paroxetine and have now been on 40 mg for just over 6 weeks. It is now beginning to work and I definately think it is working. The side effects are easing, although my dry mouth continues plus lack of libido and some night sweats and some weight gain. However considering the positive effects I am having with my mood improving I think the side effects are worth it. Stick with it if you can, my  phsychiatrist said the symptoms will ease. Hope this is useful.

just wanted to confirm that Saroxat is the slow release form of the generic form of paroxetine, and is not usually prescribed in the uk under N.I.C.E guidelines due to cost. This is from my Harley street psychiatrist. The results are normally seen by 6 weeks with either form.but the condition may plateau ie not improve further at the dose given, requiring increased dosage or re-assessment.

10mg is a low dose but Seroxat is the hardest drug to come off! Withdrawal is very difficult I've been on them for 26 years and due to the length of time on them my sertogenic system has been destroyed' stops working because the mess do the job! It' was great for me for 23 years but then all of a sudden the 50mg I was taking everyday became less effective'! Please believe me when I say it's almost impossible to come off after long term use! Be careful
