Possible cause of two screws dislodging seven weeks postop ORIF?

Fractured humerus in a fall in 1/16. No surgery at the time and went through PT. After 1-1/2 years, it did completely heal. Had ORIF 7 weeks ago; everything looked good at 2 weeks postop. Started PT at 4weeks for ROM progressing to passive assisted, and at 6 weeks started some isometrics, all according to surgeon's protocol. Went for second followup with X-rays. The two screws near the bottom of the surgical plate have popped out of the plate. What could have caused this. Two weeks ago, I had a different therapist because mine was on vacation. She pushed me arm not in a gentle manner. Could this have caused them to loosen or pop or doing the isometrics caused them to pop? What causes screws to pop out of a surgical plate? PT has been suspended until after my next visit in 5 weeks. I'm relegated back to the sling and immobility. Surgeon says the area that had not healed the first time looks good and is healing. I'm very frustrated with my situation.

UGH!! yes...it is possible...it is also possible it was simply meant to be...I had something similar happen... a pt ripped a surgical repair off its anchor 15 weeks out of surgery, 13 weeks with the same PT...required a second surgery... and a new pt with a different affiliation. 12 weeks out of the re-repair / revision and MUCH better second time around. DO NOT GIVE UP HOPE FOR BETTER TOMORROWS. We have to deal with the highs and the lows. YOU ARE NOT ALONE. BUCK UP and hold on !! This is temporary. Ask around for who is a good PT. My second time around ... the PT is an angel from God...she's that good. CHIN UP and hang on... YOU WILL MAKE IT!!!

Thanks for your reply and encouraging words. I guess I'm still in shock that the screws popped out and frustrated because I felt like I was doing so well. I had never heard of this happening to anyone before. My plan is to take it one day at a time and hopefully in 5 weeks when I go back, things are looking good despite this setback. Again, thanks for your replay and encouragement. Glad to hear your second surgery went we..
