possible CFS?

Hi, over the last two years or so I have been feeling I'll. It started by doctors believing I had thyroid issue but after several blood tests they believed this wasn't so. Constant tiredness, hunger and just general lack of energy were making my life hard and i couldn't go out like normal teens as when I finished college (4ish) I was shattered. I started sleeping 4-6pm, waking up for tea and returning to bed at around 7 until 6.45 the next morning. (I may just add I'm 5ft4' and weigh just over 7st which I know is a bit low but I simply can't put weight on - hence suspected thyroid) But then it got worse, I started to suffer from nausea and I was feeling sick everyday. My mother believed I was pregnant as this wasnt normal (although I knew this wasn't the case) I also struggled with breathing and felt like my chest was clogged so I used to tap it to distract myself. Then soon after the nausea started I begined passing out unexpectedly without reason. (Sitting at the table for a meal, during college lessons etc) the doctors did more tests believing it was anemia (due to having heavy pperiods) but now have put it down to low blood pressure but I feel its more than this. About 3 months ago my body started to not let me sleep at night even when I felt tired. Right now its 2.40am but I cannot sleep. This is really causing me difficulty as some days I'm fine and others I cannot get out of bed in the morning. Any help would be greatly appreciated. ( I can't seem to think of anything else/symptoms that I suffer with at this moment.) Thankyou!

Hi kbro , first may I say how sorry I am that you feel so ill , the main suggestion I have is keep on at the drs to give you a diagnosion !! You can't start to improve things untill you know for sure what is wrong !! I'm afraid it's not an easy path he drs will try & fob you off but you must stay strong even though you won't feel you have the strength to argue , you need to know what's wrong before you can get the right medication !!

good luck !!( I'm awake all night also hurting & can't sleep while my husband snores his head off !!!!!!! )

hope things get a bit better soon take care xx

I assume you've had a complete blood panel done that has come back negative. If testing reveals nothing, then you might want to go to an ME/CFS specialist. A GP won't do the trick. Your symptoms could indicate this illness. The passing out can result from a condition common to ME/CFS. When you stand or sit for any length of time, your blood pressure drops and also the heart can start racing. This is also called POTS. You can Google POTS. I'm so sorry you're dealing with all these symptoms. You need a good specialist in your corner.

Hi Jackie thanks for your reply. After googling PoTS I agree that some of my symptoms coincide with this. Thank you for your suggestion to go to a CFS specialist. I wasn't aware you could refer yourself! Thanks again! X

Don't know what country you're in, so don't know how your medical system works with regard to specialists. But you should do everything possible to get to one, as so much is as stake.
