Possible Crohns disease? Need some help :(

Hi everyone, i'm after some advice please. My partner has suffered with abdominal discomfort and gastric symptoms for several years now. He gets diarrhoea, constipation, mucousy stools (sorry, tmi). He also gets alot of bloating and tenderness, in particular around the rising colon area. His stomach makes constant noises and gurgling, and he has occasional vomiting.

The thing is over the last month the vomiting, bloating and abdominal pain has been more frequent (2-3 days a week). He has always assumed that he has ibs and the vomiting is down to something he has eaten, but due to the frequency of it now and the fact that no one else in the house seems to have problems he has started to think it could be something else. He has found out that his cousin has crohns and was wondering if it could be that.

The problem is that right now he is really not well. He is in bed with vomiting and abdominal pain again, and i was wondering if there is any way of relieving the symptoms while he waits for a GP appointment?

Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated as he is really suffering with this now sad

Thank you Rose, he is wondering if it would be worth doing a food diary. He found that grapefruit really made him bad last week, maybe due to the acidity...but he had soup, ice cream and a yoghurt yesterday and that didn't cause him any problems so he's going to stick to things like that for the time being smile

Hi,kez035 yes a food diary sounds great and if you are feeling stress something that you take a interest in that makes you happy a funny movie learn to laugh at your situation all the crape out of your life because if you get a handle of it and realize only you can make it better no wonder drugs and all the stress will go away it does take time but learning to relax is hard to do but it realy good for crohns no fruit cakes but everything else things, can't be to bad have a go and let me know if he feel better does he bleed when passing solids it depends on where on the colon the crohns is and with reseach he will get to know his limits and what suits him all the best Rosewink
