possible dermoid cyst on left ovary

Hi all , short as I can ..ive suffered. Pain in my lower. Abdomen. Since. Having my first child almost. 13 years ago now ..ive had so many different. Tests .. And everytime. Pushed and told I have IBS ..i never believe. Them as I know. My own body ..ive been. Scanned. And shown cysts b4 and then just sent home and ignored...back in 2012 just. After we re located south ..england ...i had a scan that showed. What they said was an abnormal cyst ..next doc said it looked. Like a endometriosis cyst..so I had a laproscopy ..told it was just. A fybroid and left in pain ...since. I have had my 3rd child and when pregnant scan showed. Yet another. Cyst ...again ignored...so I asked back November 2014 for a scan ...had it December 15th ...guess. It showed. A cyst ...the lady asked id I ever had a name for my cysts ...well not. Really ....so she said it looks. Like a dermoid. Cyst....about 1 hour after getting. Home my doctor. Called and told me its a large. Cyst and he has referred me to a gyno . Wich my app is on the 22nd Jan 2015 ...i rang doc back with a few questions he didn't really say much but I asked him how long has it been there and he told me its the same one I had in 2012 ...im now left confused and a little angry I've been messed around so long...his wife doctor a few weeks b4 gave me ibs pills and just went on telling me how we all get cysts and they go but my pain is ibs ..... I know its not :-( my side is hurting my lower tummy , my back ..odly my right leg im really hoping this time I get answers .

    Here goes got my laproscopy tomorrow Monday 20th of April really nervous now

      I'll be thinking of you tomorrow Amy. Honestly I practically ran into the hospital on day of op. I was so glad to be getting my life back. The way they look after you when you get to the hospital is amazing- nothing at all to be scared of. You will wake up with no pain- I had morphine button for 24 hours- was heaven - I think everyone should have one once a month!   No cares or worries !After that I only took paracetomol if needed. I had laparotomy-24 staples down belly and was fine- you won't have anything like that and should heal very quickly. Make sure you rest,sleep,eat well and enjoy feeling better each day - have a nice soft pillow under your belly in bed and let people look after you. xx

      Thankyou so much for your support .. I really am terrified only coz I'm scared of them not finding every cause of the pain .. I just hope they look properly this time ..as different specialist and different hospital ... think I'll be in shock if they can tell me ill be pain free .. I'm told I'm first on the list so fingers crossed it won't be all day xx

      Hope everything went ok Amy. I'm still waiting for mine they told me should be about 22 June, which will have been 18 weeks since I saw the consultant 😔. Am so scared as been a year like this and my pain is worse than ever. Now I have a new problem with my left lower leg too snd worried its all connected xxx

    im so pleased i read your story as im getting pains in my right leg and thought it was just in my head... i hope u get sorted soon hunni.. i was told 2 days ago i have a cyst on my right ovary and i need a follow up with a gyno xx good luck hun

      I too am pleased to have read this and know I'm not going crazy. Found out last Tues I have a cyst and both my thighs have been achy sore and now I don't feel like I'm going mad... as well as the abdo pain I know now my lower back pain, leg pain, nausea, fatigue and loss of appetite are all related to this so im pleased to know i probably only have one problem (the cyst) and not multiple problems! x

    Hi ladies had my opp Monday just gone .. woke up to find out they had taken my left ovary and tube as well as the possible dermoid cyst ...that has been sent away to be tested .. I had a complication as my heart slowed and they had to take air out give me drugs to get it beating faster again ..then start again. .. specialist said the cyst was a tough one and 6 cm .. so I had mini laparotomy..I have 1 long cut under my bely and 2 other cuts ... I had to stay in over night but begged to get out as my birthday was Wednesday ... I asked about the leg pain and was told it was probably the ovary pushing on a nerve ...they didn't find endo so good news on that ..but I am struggling with the recovery as now have a cough that hurts my stomach .. hope both of you get in and it over soon .. I'm hoping it's all worked now but positive about it 😊

      Hi amy- just saw your post.Sorry you had complications. Coughing is to be avoided as much as possible,but at least support under your belly with both hands if you feel a cough coming on. Do you have staples or stitches? If there's a scar use Boots scar serum for 3 months it's really good.x

      Hi I have desolvable stitches I think I'd be coping if I didn't ha e this cough and I'm constantly feeling sick now taking nurophen and paramol for the pain

      Hi amy - hopefully you will feel a little better each day.It takes a lot of patience but you'll get there. I'm 12 weeks after op and feeling so well x

      Thankyou silvia gives me something to look forward to as right now I'm feeling so sick and pained ..I'm so thankful to all my family and friends as they all have done so much for me x

    Hi all huge update. .. had my left ovary removed along with a tube and the possible dermoid cyst ... got out next day and after I got a massive infection on wound and water infection. . I have got out of hospital Friday after being on antibiotics drip for a week. . And also had some horrible news that it was not a dermoid cyst but I have a rare ovarian small cell carcinoma cancer ..I might be having a full hysterectomy within 4 weeks and I have a pet scan on 20th..am awaiting news from a mdt meeting held today about me ..I also have dvt so have to inject over 20 needles

      Oh Amy I am sorry to hear this, and after all you have been through and now so many complications with the op 😔. Sending lots of love and strength to you xxx I have my date for op 12 June, so worried as like you have been fobbed off, will have been 15 months of pain by then xxx

      Thankyou ..good luck with your opp .. Make sure you take yummy food in for after as hospital food is horrid ..I felt so sick for ages after as didn't eat properly
