Possible endometriosis? Please help

For starters, I have and am going to see my obgyn about this, but I won't be able to for at least another 3 weeks and I am freaking out.

In January, I had some brown spotting/bloody discharge about 1 week after my period, which lasted 3-4 days. I freaked, made an appt, had a pap smear (which came back normal), doctor said cervix looked good and nothing felt out of the ordinary in my abdomen and told me to give it another 2-3 months to see if it persisted before returning. I just finished my third period since then (just over a week ago) and have had the same issue - approximately one week after my period ends, I spot/bleed for 3-4 days. The bleeding varies, sometimes it's brown discharge, sometimes it's pink discharge, today it's bright pink bordering on red - seems more bloody than discharge, but it's very thin and watery (but bright). There usually isn't much of it, I wore a tampon a couple of times just because wiping and seeing blood would send me into panic mode, and when I removed it, there wouldn't even be enough to coat the entire tampon, and it hadn't really absorbed any.

I'm 31, have had excruciatingly painful and rather heavy periods since it first began when I was 11 or 12 (which, until recently, I thought was normal). On top of the intense cramping, I often have period related diarrhea, nausea, bloating, and loss of appetite. I haven't been sexually active in ages and am not trying for kids (and never have, so I have no idea if I'm fertile or not).

I know no one can tell me for sure, but does this sound like endometriosis? I'm freaking out about the possibility of cancer and every time I see the blood I go numb sad

    Hi Shan

You've had a rough year so far. I'm glad that you already have that appointment scheduled since the doctor us the one to figure this out. Yes, it could be endo but it could also be that you need a D&C. We will hope for the latter!

In the meanrime, hang onto that good result on your pap smear. Thinking of cancer is completely normal whenever things go wrong, but you've got that strong piece of goid news.

I hope that all goes well for you. Do yourself a favor & stay away from Dr. Quack Quack Google while you wait to see your doctor.

Thank you for your reply. I know better than to google my symptoms - and I encourage others not to also - and yet I sat here and googled my issue in a dozen different ways. Did me absolutely no good lol

I saw the doctor again today and she is almost positive it's ovulation bleeding. She wants me to make an appt for a week after my next period ends, which is when I spot, and she'll do an ultrasound just to rule anything else out. I told her how anxious and nervous I was and asked if I should reel in my panic about it being cancer and she said absolutely.

Endometriosis hasn't been broached yet, but hopefully it is just ovulation. I'll reply after my next appointment if it is something else - just in case anyone with the same symptoms ends up here.
