Possible gastro bleed on Plavix/aspirin

Posted , 4 users are following.

I've been taking Plavix with a low dose aspirin for about 6 weeks following a possible TIA (mini-stroke.) This morning, I woke up with an extrmely dry mouth, rinsed it out, and noticed some brownish blood in my mouth, on my tongue, teeth, and when I'd spit. This was terrifying, and I immediately thought of every possible cancer. However, I then realized that the Plavix/aspirin was a more likely culprit.

Has anyone else experienced anything similar? I have a call in to my doctor, as I know it needs to be investigated.

is the blood coming from your gums or are you coughing it up?

I hadn't even considered my gums. It was on my tongue, around my teeth, and there when I'd spit. No coughing, all brownish. Not happening now.
