Possible HIV infection

hi everyone, I'm a male 30 years old and I'm curious about the possibility that I might be infected with HIV after my sexual encounter with a female sex worker about 2 weeks ago and there was no penetration. What happened was that there was only genital rubbing between us and I was not erected because I was quite intoxicated. Before the encounter, I think I might also have urethritis for awhile because sometime my urethra hurts during urination or it just hurts but not serious. After the sexual encounter, I started to have muscle tension and pain on my shoulders after 3 days and then pain and ache on my hands and legs. I also have jaw pains and headaches. These symptoms still last until today which is about 10 days now. My question is: if I have some kind of urethra inflammation, what is my chance of getting HIV infection just by genital rubbing (4-5 seconds top)? Does symptom show after 3 days? What is the possible cause for these symptoms that I'm having now? Please keep in mind that the status of this sex worker is unknown and she was on top. Please help shade some light on my anxiety. I know I will have to get tested to be sure. Thank you in advance!

    Hello there Buddy

As far as I know you can get HIV from rubbing. It is passed by fluid. And you did not pass any fluid. Your aches and pain may be caused by something else. Stress can do a lot.

Take care and don't drink so much.........Ken

hi Ken thanks for the feedback. I know I did not have HIV at that time but because her status is unknown, her vaginal fluids can pass through my inflamed urethra if she's infected. This is what is making me worried too much. Is it too early to get tested at 2-3 weeks? because I'm planning to get tested like tomorrow

      Hey Buddy

Here is something to think about. Where did you met this lady. I know in Vegas they have to have tests done all the time. If you were flaccid the odds of your pee hole being open is very slim.

But all the information I have read tell you to go as quick as you can if you think you caught something. That would be the best to help your stress level. Right now don't worry. Stress is not good for you. Just please be careful. Your only 30 and you have a long life a head of you.

Take it easy. If you need to talk or just vent I am here for you. I have 2 sons a little older they you I have all ways tried to help when I can.

      God Bless................Ken

    Hey,

For HIV transmission to occur, body fluids containing HIV (i.e. blood, semen, vaginal fluids) need direct access to your bloodstream through activities like unprotected insertive anal or vaginal sex. So, even though there were some fluids involved and your urethra was involved, we consider genital rubbing to be of negligible risk. This means that while there is some risk, there has NEVER been a confirmed report of HIV transmission happening this way.

Therefore, in my opinion, I do not think it is a risk. However, i noticed that you want to go for a test tomorrow, an Negative result in 2-3 weeks after the last sex behavior is always a good sign, if you can wait, a negative result at the 28days (4 weeks) for HIV is conclusive, if a test can ease your mind, just go for one.

In sum, i think you will be fine as based on what you have described above, there is a negligible risk.

    Best,

    Hugo

hi Hugo, thank you for your reply. Even her status is unknown to me, my worry is that what if her vaginal fluid get in contact with my inflamed urethra, what is the chance of me getting HIV? I have been having muscle and joints ache on my arms and legs since a few days after the genital rubbing and it's getting worse till now. This is really making me crazy.

Just because she's a SW with that type of genital contact you should test for everything else ,including syphilis ,epathitis ,gonorrea etc...

      Hey there,

Just because she is a sex worker then we assume she has every stds? and what is epathitis? hepatitis?

Everyone should get regular test in every 3 months.

I never went to a sex worker , that's why I assume they could have any disease and I would do every test if I try one , I'm not interested if you disagree , that's how I think !

And don't try to criticize people's English here , it's an international crowd of people suffering and asking for advice , you should be compassionate and help instead of trolling as a grammarNazi.

      Hey there,

Arguing on this topic is wasting time and i am sure that you are here for the same reason which is looking for help and helping others.

I am not interested in if you have ever went to a sex worker, but many of them, because of they always in a risk, so they checked regularly, what i want to say is please do not judge people's health by their career.

Also, as you said "you should be compassionate and help instead of trolling as a grammarNazi". I was not correcting on your grammar, we are here for replying sexual health problems, so if you want to use any term, please be accurate.
