POSSIBLE LICHEN SCLEROSIS AFTER EXPOSURE TO HSV OR HPV
Posted , 4 users are following.
hey guys
june 2019 I had a unprotected one night stand
38 yr old male
a few days later had one time outbreak of burning red dots on my glans thought maybe it was thrush or hsv
the burning red dots subsided and have never returned but I have developed what looks like lichen sclerosis or erosive balanitis in the last few years prior to the unprotected encounter my glans was unblemished and smooth -please note this is affecting my glans only-,there is no itching or pain associated with my glans whether flaccid or aroused
I've tried clotrimazole cream and fluoxetine tablets -no effect
HPV SWAB-no strains detected
HSV IGG BLOODTEST - positive for hsv1 ,as expected as I've suffered from cold sores from childhood
hsv2 -negative
FULL PANEL FOR ALL STDS X2- Negative for all stds inc mg
Visited gum clinc and was told was normal variations
I also sent pictures of affected area to dermatologist who couldn't find any abnormalities
only washing with water and being careful not to get urine on affected area
quit smoking, drinking, wheat, dairy and on no sugar diet
high water intake
I'm extremely fed up and drained over this situation and was wondering if any of you guys with lichen sclerosis would have a look at my pics and give an opinion
I guess I'm asking any of you guys if you developed lichen sclerosis after having hpv or hsv on your glans and if so did look like anything like this at any stage please bare in mind my glans was unblemished and smooth for 37 years of my life and has changed to a ruff pitted texture after a unprotected encounter so I dont believe this a natural development of my penis

Thanks very much for your comments on my knowledge.
So, in case you are not aware, I am a Lichen Sclerosis sufferer and I am very familiar with ALL the symptoms and early-stage onset of the condition, and other Lichen based disorders.
I am very glad to be telling you that ALL the photos you have posted show nothing OTHER than a completely natural way for a penis glans / head to have developed.
That is, the texture is in NO WAY unusual.
Certainly, I think the GP will have no other conclusion to reach than 'you have nothing to be concerned about' !
I am sure your anxiety has got the better of you and you really need to believe what medical professionals are telling you.
So for example when you contacted the Dermatologist, and remember, this is someone who spent many years training in a very detailed manner, received hands-on experience, then became part of a professional association that ALL dermatologists have to belong to, and has probably practiced, fully qualified for a number of years they said in response to your photos:
“ I… sent pictures of affected area to dermatologist who couldn't find any abnormalities “
Final conclusion = this is very typical development of the glans of penis, absolutely nothing to be of concern

An over simplification of both the conditions you mention would be that the skin becomes distressed to the point where the natural response is to apply something to your penis to try to relieve and resolve what is happening.
So for me I thought it was something like dry skin, and this seemed to be forming a layer, in a way similar to hard skin on the heel of the foot would, and you are motivated to try all kinds of ways of resolving this - so I bought lots of different skin creams, for dry skin, moisturising and antiseptic creams, and so on.
At times symptoms reduced but at others things became out of control and it would seems there was almost like a scab type growth sitting on top of the the normal layer of skin.
Actually, eventually I went to a GP and he wanted to fast-track me to a Dermatology department to ensure what was going on was not penile cancer. A biopsy was taken and it proved the presence BXO / LS.
Again, you have absolutely nothing like this - simply a glans that has totally developed in a natural manner

Thank you for your comments.
Put simply, you need to recognise that you DO NOT have an issue - what is going on is simply the natural development of your penis
Put bluntly, you do NOT have Lichen Sclerosis

How would you know that @Wee_Dugie ? I am having exactly the same issues and as many reporting it, this appeared directly after unprotected oral sex. There are dozens or hundreds of similar reports to be found here alone.

this picture shows how the glans has gone ruff and pitted compared to the other side of the red line which is still smooth which is how the whole glans appeared originally
