Possible Ovarian Cancer?

Posted , 3 users are following.

I've been experiencing all the symptoms of Ovarian cancer to a varying degree over the last 6 weeks and these symptoms are not normal to me, especially to the degree they have been. I know it's not dietary because symptoms have not necessarily improved by not eating gluten or soy.

I just don't know what to do. There's no doctors appointments available until I leave for uni and even if there was I keep on kidding myself that because some days I only have 2 symptoms that I'm fine because the reduced appetite may just be  because my stomach's shrunk.

    Hi hanna10539,

So sorry to hear of your situation and the great worry it causes. I had breast cancer eons ago but many times since have worried over my ovaries also. I'd had severe endometriosis for years before menopause that was mostly was in my ovaries so I know what ovary pain feels like and among my many other symptoms pains I have pain in left ovary. I'd asked my oncologist 20yrs ago to remove them prophylacticly, but drs didn't do that then even tho there's proven evidence that there's a connection between breast and ovarian cancer. But, enough of me, I wondered if you'd ever had problems with your overies before or had breast cancer? Is either type in your family? Try not to worry and when you can give us more info like your age, health history etc. Great thing is, for those who are diagnosed today with ovarian CA, although definitely still one of the most serious, it is more survivable today and there is reason for hope. Also, there are many benign diseases that can cause your symptoms. Feeling full too soon after eating is actually your most important symptom and must come to your dr's attention. BUT please know it can be the result of gastritis, an inflammation of stomach, and can also give you nausea, but is totally curable, I had this twice in my life. And remember too that pain from one area can be felt in places far from original sure. So try to remain positive, try hard not to go Google-crazy as we all on these forums have also. Let us know more and there is support here that helps. It helps me for sure smile

Thankyou for your response. I have a history of breast cancer in the family but I don't know about ovarian. I'm 18. I havn't had any diagnosed issues with my ovaries before but I definitely used to get very severe ovulation pain and period pain with other symptoms around that time until I sorted my diet out and went mostly vegan and now vegan.

Going Google crazy is so hard not to do! But I am trying because of anything it just makes me worry more.

    Hi, Hannah,

If you are concerned you have cancer, you need to go to a doctor.  Only a doctor can diagnose and treat you! Please get yourself in to see one, and let us know how you do.

    Hey hanna10539,

Thanks for your details! You are so young! Sadly though, as you probably have read, it is now happening to younger and younger women, all the women's cancers that for generations came only to much older women. And for that reason, I wholeheartedly agree with Lynda that you should consult your doctor real soon as you may well find out it's not cancer at all, and what a happy dance you will do smile but always remember members are here to help if anything negative should ever be discovered. Take care of yourself sweetie and keep us updated.
